Dave Bartlam
Div 1 Wendron United Thirds 1 - 2 Probus Great game for the neutral I recon. Both teams could have put this game to bed if it weren't for some outstanding goalkeeping by both of the Number 1's - Probus keeper couldn't have been much older than 16 - really good ability, well done. Tough to lose the first game of the season but Probus wanted it more than us in the second half and deserved the victory. Looking forward to the return leg already. All the best gents. Also shout out to the Probus assistant. Great to see females helping out with lino duties - get yourself on the refs course
G2DO
Peninsula players playing trelawny 4 again...yawn. I know no rules have been broken but surely if they need game time they can get a game of combo somewhere? Can’t be good for kids playing men’s football for the first time coming up against players like that. This isn’t a dig at any team in particular btw as i know it happened a lot last year aswell. Sh91
Wendron United 'Thirds' 1 - 2 Probus Wendron dominated the 1st half and went 1 up from a break from a Probus corner. By the end of the half they'd dominated possession, hit the post once or twice, and should have gone more ahead. 2nd half Probus started much better and brighter and threatened much more and were working the GK. From the half way line the ball was pinched off the Wendron players toes from their throw in, which lead to Harry Wilshaw being played through and scoring. If Probus' discipline with some of the challenges in the 1st half was a bit a miss, 2nd half was the turn of Wendron. Some rash challenges going in, ultimately one lead to Probus' winning goal, free-kick on the edge of the box into the bottom corner by Justin Trebilcock. By the end no doubt Wendron will feel hard done by based on their 1st half, but Probus threatened a lot more in the 2nd half, hitting the woodwork at least 4 times. Wendron paid for not killing it off in the 1st half. Victory was sweet today for Probus. But best of luck to Wendron, no doubt will be up fighting for top places in the league. Cheers AET! DRichards
Gwin 6-3 Ludgvan After missing saturdays loss to Falmouth due to work we had to put it right and kickstart our season. After a poor start to season we wanted to start the match well. They won a penalty which was saved through new keeper Ashley Dunn!! Ludgvan then scored through a long ball that we couldn’t deal with. We equalised through a well taken Marcus Bawden goal which he needed massively for his confidence. We conceded within 5 seconds from the restart which wasn’t ideal!!! Thankfully we equalised through a free kick from Billy Foster after a keeping error!!! We then scored again through Marcus Bawden with another quality finish after hard work from Anthony Leak. We finished the half through a great header from Billy Foster from a decent free kick from Jack Elliot. HT 4-2 Started the second half well and scored again through skipper Gavin Russell after good work from Jack Whitcombe. We ended our scoring through another neat finish from Foster. We cruised the second half which was nice to watch. We finally started clicking after some dismal results. Ludgvan scored a late consolation from a penalty late in the game. I think there was a lot of unsportsmanlike behavior from both sides which marred the game slightly. Ludgvans number 4 Devine was the main moaner from Ludgvan and I think he thought he was a lot better player than what he actually is ? blaming our bowling green of a pitch for his poor performance ?? All in all very happy with the performance from the lads. Just need to cut out silly mistakes and think we’ll be there. MOM Marcus Bawden, showed how good he is! Closely followed by Foster for scoring a quality hat trick. We move onto Ruan Minor at home, only dampener is having players out through work but with the squad we have we’ll put out a decent side still. Very well refereed, but didn’t catch his name. ⚫️⚪️⚫️⚪️⚫️⚪️⚫️⚪️

paulo bestiniho
Or they could all leave and start in div 4 again? Not sure that kind of stuff happens. ??? West Cornwall reserves 4-1 st day 3rds Despite things being against us during the beating by the one of the leagues best teams on the weekend we felt we had a point to prove and were looking to bounce back. We we did that immediately by conceding a penalty and being 1-0 down. The fight back did come as goals from Owain Barrett, Monty Cloutman, Ralph pascoe and Ryan Hooper all hit the back of the net. (Ralphs and hoops we’re both belters) which saw us run out 4-1 winners. best of luck to st day, have a good bunch of guys down there including some old friends. I have a lot of time for Dario, cracking lad great to see him volunteer in helping out a local club whilst he is sidelined. Hero of the day was Darren winkeorth, referee let us down today and Darren took up the game at an hours notice to avoid the game being cancelled. And reffed the fixture superbly well. We didn't have a single striker to choose. Ed Wilton is signed on so we had every right to pick him. It was a good job we did as we played a very strong Titans team with only a couple who started their game vs Chacewater on Saturday. They also had Hal Davies (who was one of the best players in the county when he played south western league & is still young) & Tyler Oliver who is a Helston Peninsula player. Every member of our squad lives in Threemilestone or drinks at Threemilestone social club, we are a huge group of mates who are back playing together at our boyhood club. all of our experienced senior players are around 30, so anyone hoping we will disband within a year or 2 are going to be disappointed. Thanks for the food after also. Great game to be part of, that Mawnan had the better of in the first half and we were probably fortunate to be level at the break after withstanding (with some fortune) a heavy assault on our goal for the last 15-20 minutes of the first 45. We really came out of the blocks at the start of the 2nd half, when against the run of play, Mawnan took the lead again from a mishit freekick that was touched onto the bar and put away after a bit of 6 yard pingpong. But the players didn't roll over and fought hard to take a 5-2 lead but conceded a sloppy goal at the death to finish 5-3. Have to say that I thought the ref, Ken Keemer, was good enough but was actually out-shone by the 2 assistants. The guy on the line for Mawnan was an absolute credit to the club as was Alan Smith for Lanner. Both were up with play, honest and consistent. Fair play to both of them
