Bodmin pre season were not great, Falmouth against St Austell were surprisingly poor, as were St Austell against Helston (even in winning) - but Saltash have been constant - so tomorrow’s games will be very interesting - to see who is shaping up now the season is properly underway, as all four imo can give Tavvy a very good run for their money (they drew with Godolphin and were nothing that special when they beat Sticker).

A little unfair to still describe the Falmouth like that.

They showed last season that all  more than worthy to be tagged  as Premier Divison players in their own right.

Couldn't agree more, just highlighting the negative opinions made previously on this forum, certainly not an opinion we have or a description we have used of that league, or the players in it.
Think it may have been a Bodmin supporter who introduced a comment calling the west division as a fish and chip league. ? ?

Interesting given Bodmin's recent recruitment policy has focused on pinching talent from that same fish and chip league. Indeed, their only goalscorer last night was at a fish and chip league club for his preseason.

           Wednesday 22 August 2018

v AFC St Austell (home) SWPL(Premier Division)

Saltash United line-up:Ryan Rickard,Dave Barker,Callum Martindale,Lewis Russell,Callum O'Brien,Dave Trott, Richard Maddison(Sam Farrant 70 mins),Henry Wilson,Sam Hughes,Ryan Richards(c),Danny Lewis.

Unused subs:Caleb Summerfield & Josh Tapp

Bookings:Russell,Trott & Maddison.

Result:Saltash United 2  AFC St Austell 2

Scorers:Trott(pen 45 mins),Richards(60 mins).

Attendance:135

Referee:Alan Bassett.

It is often said that it is a games of two halves and this was one of them.Within 39 minutes St Austell were  2-0 up through a Chris Reski deflected shot on 17 minutes and from Liam Eddy on 39 minutes. It could have been more as they dominated the first 45 minutes.Saltash did have chances in the first half but didn't test Ethan Elwell in the St Austell goal.On the stroke of half-time the Ashes were given a lifeline when Sam Hughes was pulled down in the area for a penalty which Dave Trott scored from.

The second half belonged to Saltash as they dominated play but they had to wait until the hour mark when Ryan Richards scored from a move that was started by Danny Lewis who by this time was playing in midfield and not the back three. The Ashes had several good chances to take the three points but could not find the final touch in front of goal.

At the other end St Austell were always a threat on the break with both Liam Eddy and Mark Goldsworthy testing the Ashes with their pace but as with Elwell in the St Austell goal first half Ryan Rickard in the Ashes goal was not severely tested in the second half.

There was two men from Sheffield at the game and from a neutral point of view they said the game had everything you could wish for, very entertaining.

Maybe Big Al has a hidden agenda here, does he believe that if he continues to back falmouth to lose, they will continue to win ?   Any credence in that line of thought Al ?

I am beginning to worry that Big Al might forecast Falmouth to win-that will be three points lost for sure lol

I cannot understand why you think Falmouth are unbeatable they lost to St Austell only a couple of weeks ago and Annear missed a penalty last night !

Well you will have the chance to see how poor and old they are next Wednesday.

Why have you only quoted half my message? Poor old Saltash......if you’re tipping them, to Big Al. Nothing to do with you, or saying Saltash were poor! Or old! They won the Senior Cup last season! You never heard the saying poor old......? No wonder your mum won’t let you go Argyle, probably too embarrassed ?

He's been offered so many olive branches to come back into the fold from his self imposed exile yet has excuse after excuse as to why he shouldnt or cant return .One in every village apparently.

Probably know a lot more than you. With your attitude it is little wonder that I do not attend but that does not mean I am any the less interested. Where are the olive branches - I have not seen them.

"Poor old Saltash if you’re tipping them"

If your full comment, "Poor old Saltash if you’re tipping them", was directed at one individual maybe you should have included that persons name in you comment. I apologise, as I appear to have misinterpreted your comment. However the comment "Poor old Saltash if you’re tipping them" gave the impression that in your opinion they play poorly and are all getting on a bit.

Sticker Forever. Was that a sentence passed by a judge?

For those of you who know the individuals is Big Al actually Leed’s alto ego?

You only tend to hear from one at a time and both have views that most forum members disagree with - perhaps Leeds is just deflecting when Bodmin have a hiccup?

Think you'll find that only three people post on this forum, they all have multiple aliases ?
