Recommended Posts

The Mortgage Advice Bureau East Cornwall League fixtures have been announced with some interesting match ups. The Premier Division which has been reduced to 13 teams starts on Saturday 18th August with league champions Torpoint Athletic up against Plymstock United, while runners-up St Austell meet Polperro. The top two meet early as the pair face each other on Wednesday 29th August at St Austell. The two promoted teams Millbrook and Wadebridge Town have difficult home matches against Tavistock and Launceston respectively.

As there are only ten teams in Division One it was decided that the season starts on Saturday 8th September. Lanreath and St Minver who both narrowly missed out on promotion start with home games against Morwenstow and promoted St Stephen from the Duchy League respectively.

Fixtures secretary Mike Murray said: 'Because of the lack teams in the league this season I decided to only have a few games being played in midweek.' Murray was also able to give dates for all the cup competitions.
