Dave Deacon
Truro OFF Tuesday 27th February 2018 NATS Hampton & Richmond Borough Hungerford Town 19:45 NATS Havant & Waterlooville Gloucester City 19:45 NATS Truro City Concord Rangers 19:45 NATS Weston-super-Mare St Albans City 19:45 Although at the moment, Concord Rangers have issued a statement as follows:- Club Statement February 26, 2018 As you are undoubtedly aware, Amber weather warnings have been put in place for large areas of the country over the coming days and nights with the threat of severe snowfall affecting the UK. The “Beast from the East” as it has been affectionately dubbed has already started to see games across Europe suffer postponements, and it is expected to have a significant effect on sports fixtures, travel networks etc in the next couple of days. With that in mind, the sensible decision has been taken by Concord Rangers not to travel to Truro City tomorrow night. This is due to the significant risk that the journey will hold given the Amber weather warnings currently in place. Concord Rangers Chairman Antony Smith stated “The health and safety of our fans, players and officials must take priority in this situation, and the decision to postpone the game this early is the right one for all concerned. Ultimately points and cost mean nothing when compared to life” Officials here at Concord Rangers will be liaising with those at the National League and Truro City in an effort to make a decision regarding a rearranged date for this fixture as soon as possible To which Truro City have responded:- White Tigers set to host Concord Rangers on Tuesday evening... TRURO City FC Chairman, Peter Masters, has cleared up the current situation regarding Tuesday's home game against Concord Rangers. "As far as Truro City is concerned, we are treating the game against Concord Rangers on Tuesday evening as on," he said. "There have been reports from elsewhere to the contrary but as I speak, the pitch is playable and the ground staff have been working hard on it. "We will be preparing as usual and a warm welcome and hot pasty awaits our visitors." cornishteddyboy
Hell of a way to come to play a mid-week game of football, all the the way from the other side of London. I suppose it's worth it for the three points. Concord's nickname is The Beach Boys, not very surfing weather at the moment but when they win those points they will be cresting the wave. somersetspur
The London area have had up to 4 inches of snow in places ,overnight. It is still snowing up there. How the hell can that fool say the game must be played. Common sense must prevail. A bloody football match, must not be the most important thing ,here.Safety first. Its not as if TCFC have'nt been involved in a few strange postponement's,before.
prazeyrunner
They should not be made to travel in such conditions, the weather will clear up after the next few days so we can rearrange the game then, smacks of desperation on our part. Plus how many people does he think are going to turn up given our current form and sub zero temperatures, as much as I enjoy my football I didn't fancy standing around for two hours a minus three degrees, surely the pitch will be frozen solid so dangerous for all players. See sense Chairman and not make more enemies.

Indeed - but I think it was all very unprofessional how the whole thing was handled! The League should have come out about it first surely! Dave Deacon
One of the Concord chairman’s tweets on this matter: “ I sent the league an email this morning confirming we will not be travelling for the safety of our staff & players, Ive had absolutely no response 2 this email. I feel now seeing the reports of accidents, road closures etc we are fully justified in our decision @ConcordRangers”

Fanfare
Phil Hiscox would have had this sorted the right way! People criticise but his professionalism with the SWPL shows how lucky we are to have a competent official.
