Am I right in thinking there's a huge share of clubs from the east over the two divisions. Any reason for this do you reckon?

Yes, there are more eastern clubs, but if you split the county into east, mid and west it's a fairly even split. Another west team, Wendron play in the cups, but not in the league. We did have Penzance and Holmans in the league, but unfortunately they have pulled out. I'm guessing their location must be part of the reason, but with every level of football unless you have a willing band of players and volunteers, teams can't keep going.

East - Callington, Downderry, Lanreath, Bude, Saltash

Mid - Foxhole, Grampound, St Dennis, Royal Par

West - Perranporth, Halsetown, Kernow Wanderers, St Agnes

CHARITY FRIENDLY (Over £200 raised for the Merlin Centre)

ST.AGNES BOLSTERS  7-3   ELSTEAD VETS (SURREY)

There was one vets game played this weekend on Saturday morning in hot conditions (a bit different to Sundays weather!! ) It was a well contested but friendly match played in great spirits, couple of little injuries on both sides but no malice in the tackles. Played 35 minutes each way as the visitors were keen to get in the bar in the 20*c heat and carry on drinking! Good amount of money raised for a great cause. Aggie raced into a 5-0 half time lead with goals by Trevor Wisker (2), Mark Rapsey, Dave Turner and the goal of the game with a strike off the underside of the bar by Simon Cohen. The hosts took their foot off the gas after the break as the visitors pacy (underage) wingers caused a bit of damage pulling three goals back within 25 minutes!!! A Rapsey volley regained the three goal gap after a great cross from Rhyd Purnell 15 minutes from time but the most popular goal of the day came from joint manager Steve James who came on for the last ten minutes for his last run out ever after having a knee replacement last year and he only went and scored!!! Good finish too, into the roof of the net with a minute left on the clock. Fairytale stuff for a top bloke ?⚽️ First league game against DIV 2 favourites for the league Saltash in two weeks time at home. Hope the pitch is a bit softer after all this rain!!
