Same old story, a classic case of players playing below their obvious standard is it @stokefan1?? Will all depend on how the leagues will be structured I suppose and how many will be excepted in, would be a shame as I feel the leagues are starting to balance out and teams are playing in the correct leagues as it's shown through most leagues this season being competitive, time will tell!!!

I wouldn't put too much value on this rumour just yet Ells. Seems weird to me that no club can be named. Anyway, I am sure both our sides can give Titans a good game and not make next season too easy for them!

Fair point mate, I was just intrigued to see whether it was a new team made up of a new bunch of players, or a team that will see other local sides lose players due to it! We played Titans in Junior cup and although they beat us 4-0 we did compete and cause them some problems, which considering how bad we were says a lot! :-) Mind you not sure where we're gonna be league wise!

Well I hope you stay up, I'm hoping only one go down. Although it's a shame to lose Lizard who have also been great competitors over the years. It's a tough one mate, managers seem to have more "pull" than clubs these days. I'm battling to keep my best players at the minute - while i've only asked one or two to come out to Frogpool, other clubs seem to be really on the ball this year in regards to getting new players in.

Tempo / Ells - I have a feeling that the current League 3 is where most adjustments will be made - at the moment with vacancies and teams who have confirmed pulling out of the league - I reckon the league will need at least 4/5 new teams to fulfil the constitution numbers in each division.

I personally think that any team in this years Div 3 could play in Div 2 and any team could take points of any other - the other leagues were closer but clear winners and losers.   As an aside its a real shame that Frogpool Reserves don't swap with their firsts as clearly better?

I know several clubs will be against new teams entering the league, for obvious reasons, but I also think clubs voting at the AGM should do so based one overriding factor - does the new team mean players taken from another team, causing it problems or problems with pitches / refs etc.

I know Probus is looking to enter a new team but also that they have their own pitch / facilities and all are new players to the League (along with current Probus players) they also have a qualified referee if needed and CCFA qualified assistant referee - that has got to be different from one set of players leaving a club and setting up at new team on existing pitches??

Having a qualified referee is certainly beneficial. And speaking to Tony who has done a fantastic job with the first team this season, he seemed to imply it would mainly be youngsters coming through, with a couple of experienced heads looking to return to the club to help out. With such a big squad in his current team, it will also give his fringe players more game time. He certainly seemed enthusiastic about it, and didn't imply he would be looking to poach players from other sides, they simply don't need to.

Everyone keeps bringing up the reserve/first team swap. Nick's place is with the first team, and that's that.

Although Threemilestone lost their reserve team last season, it seems foolish to reject them to me, they intend on using youth team players and players from the surrounding area without a club (such as those who have been left without a club after Newbridge folded) , as well as giving more time to their fringe players who stayed at the club when the reserve side folded last year.

Would probably have to agree with most of this @Bobjfh it's always going to be difficult to say no to new teams, I know new teams are needed but its which teams get chosen which is my concern and I hope this is all taken into account when decisions are made, I'd hate to see new teams arrive at the expense of other teams that may have to fold throughout the course of the season due to players leaving or clubs that are established losing key players going into a new season, I agree that a Probus 2nd team would make sense as you have everything in place..........I really don't know what is best really and the AGM will be interesting I'm sure.

All I know is that I can't wait for the new season to begin........I'm already bored of having no footy, although the Mrs and the little one's enjoy having me around on Saturdays!!

Agree with you on Threemilestone aswell mate, they deserve it and they have the numbers to do so without the damaging effect to other teams - I know which 2 teams I would be happy to back.

Tempo - only meant it as a compliment to your lads (not to interfere with club setup) and real shame that your club has two teams in adjoining leagues

Would be disappointed if a new team was allowed to come into the league at clijah because we tried to get our under 16s team into the league last year and got turned down and a lot of those boys left our club

Postman - that was my point - hopefully clubs will take a strong stance on the viability of the new teams seeking a place in the league - where there players are coming from and how it will affect pitches / facilities etc.

Definitely unfortunate that we can't progress but we wouldn't have done so this season anyway after a disappointing campaign.

The only one from mabe who would get into my team would be the linesman..

Both of them walk in penwiths team the only quality they haven't got which they would need is they aren't violent and over the top aggressive!
