Adlestrop
John Mead is on of the few contributors on this Forum worth taking seriously;and a comment in one of his recent postings caught my eye which mentioned the possibility of the Combo/Trelawney and ECPL/Duchy merging to form 2 Leagues in Cornwall-East and West.I have a feeling this is the wish of CCFA.Is this viable? isaac rosenberg
Always a delight to read the fruits of your sage keyboard, Adlestrop ! We now have the league structure in tge West that I proposed and circulated to clubs in 1994 At the time it was met with abuse and animal grunting. The Grim Reaper. Is the only agent of change the.more conservative of my countrymen ever accept. To interact, it was necessary, like Macbeth's porter, fir ne to swear in their scale for a while. Change eventually happened. As WBYeats observed, "the innocent and the beautiful Have no enemy but Time. "

John Mead
It's a decision for the Clubs to make and both the Trelawny & Combo Leagues will be mentioning the possibility at their AGMs and seek the consent of member Clubs to open formal discussions between the 2 Leagues. I would hope and expect that ECLP & Duchy Leagues do something similar.

If aimed at enabling promotion through the leagues easier, without reserve teams blocking the way, why not?
rob brown
Or could it be possible for promotion to be given to a side if the side finishing above was a reserve side that couldn't go any further?? As long as there was two leagues between the sides it could work?? Yes I am a reserve team player ????

Tempo
Would this eliminate the combination league as senior football?
Bobjfh
Tempo - Combo / ECPL are not senior football. They are allowed to play in senior cup by the ccfa - as ccfa would be involved in any change to league structures then it could be negoaited if that's what clubs want. I always assumed it wasn't junior football because of the hype around it.
John Mead
There is only Recreational Football status below the NSL. Although leagues can still be ranked in order, there's no Senior or Junior status - in recent times, it only ever existed in Cornwall anyway! isaac rosenberg
And what a nice living CCFA gained from "reinstatement".... Lol. If Combo clubs became eligible for the Junior Cup instead, it would be interesting to see his many tines a decade we could win it......any advance on two or three ? John Mead
I would guess that the top two divisions of both Leagues would be in Senior Cup Rodney - so a few extra teams from the West! We will have to wait to see if it ever happens!

Well according to some on here there's not a lot of difference in the quality of football , in my opinion Combination division one and two with two being the teams in Trelawney premier to start off with , cup competition would have to be worked out , . But several people will remember how many years and meetings it took to set up the Trelawney League from the old Mining league and Falmouth Helston league . John Mead
Let's just see if the principle of amalgamation is acceptable to the clubs before we start discussions on any detailed possibilities!
