Just had a stroll over at Clijah croft. All games will go ahead over there in my opinion. The bottom two pitches are looking fine, I believe Four Lanes are on the one next to Redruth Utd's pitch? That pitch is 100% playable as is the combo pitch.

I didn't look at the other pitches but if they're anything like the bottom two they should be played.

Have fun

Trying to get fixture reversed to our spare pitch. Newbridge very efficient with their postponement notice so trying to sort a ref too.

Gwinear vs Hayle cancelled

Pitch not flooded, manager arrived at 1.30 and a player informed manager that Ref had been and gone and informed player that if pitch was played on it could become dangerous.

I inspected pitch and in all honestly a game could have been played today.

Thanks for the ref hanging around to explain decision, thanks for not informing our secretary of decision also.

Guess someone had some Christmas shopping to do .....

If anyone wants to write a detailed match report from their games this afternoon, please do so and I'll add them to the Trelawny Facebook page and in tomorrow's Sunday Independent. Not many games to talk about today so a detailed match report from the games that did go ahead would be great.

Troon Res (1) 5 -v- 4 (4) Newlyn NA Res

Pitch was playable, held up well. Great battle in the circumstances. I would say well done to both teams and the ref. Gutted we lost to a soft goal 10 mins from time, but that's football. Well played Troon.

Echo that best of luck to newlyn for the rest of season good group of lads was a very tough battle glad we came out on top after being 4-1 down at halftime.

Trelawny 4. Hayle 3rds (???) 1-3 Penzance Reserves (???, Josh Richards, Tristan Hunter)

Att 16

In worsening ground but better weather conditions Penzance pulled out a 3-1 win at Trevassack Park against Hayle.

Penzance went in at half-time a goal to the good scored after 40mins but could have had several if it wasn’t for the brave goal-keeping of the lad between the sticks for the greens. He made two brave saves, getting a kick for his troubles and a couplre of leaping saves.

Hayle came more into it after the break with the deployment of substitutes who were clearly from their first team, whose game had been postponed. After squandering several chances, Penzance were forced back into their half and conceded a goal on the hour.

This seemed to spur the visitors on, and even though they had to face a ten minute onslaught from the home side, who hit the post , came back with two late goals to take the points.

Overall Penzance were worth the win but well done to Hayle for playing the game in the right spirit on a cold, wet Saturday afternoon.

Wendron Res v Pendeen Trelawny Prem

POSTPONED

Sorry to Pendeen who made the long trip up, it was postponed just before KO. Did look in decent nick when we turned up.

Thanks for staying for a drink even though there was no game, a good set of lads.

Wendron 3rds v Goonhavern Res. Div 2

A tasty affair in tough conditions. Still, some good football at times. Goonhavern went 1 up but Wendron got a second half equaliser through Nick Tomba.

All the best

Trelawny League 10/12/16

Percy Stephens Cup

Division 2’s RNAS Culdrose Reserves continued their fantastic form as they secured a 4-2 win over Division 1 leaders Marazion Blues at HMS Seahawk’s Pavillions. Despite missing five regular starters including goalkeeper Adam Stott, the Airmen raced straight out of the blocks and found themselves leading 4-0 at the halftime break. The visitors managed to pull two goals back in the second half but they were unable to capitalise as they suffered their second defeat of the season. On target for Culdrose to secure a third-round tie against Falmouth Town were Cameron Wincott, Shaun Parker and Chris Reed, who netted twice for his side.

Perranporth Reserves are also through to the third round after they pushed aside Division Four’s New Inn Titans by two unanswered goals at Ponsmere Valley. They secure a third-round tie against either Hayle Reserves, Holmans Reserves or Carharrack Reserves.

Premier

Second placed Mawnan continue to apply pressure on division leaders West Cornwall as they ran out 7-1 winners over visiting St Keverne at Carwinion. The home side lie just three points behind the leaders despite playing two extra games. St Keverne find themselves at the other side of the table in thirteenth place.

The run of bad luck continues for Threemilestone as they suffered their eleventh defeat in as many games against visitors Lizard Argyle. The current title holders however go four games unbeaten to end the week in third place.

Despite the home advantage, Troon AFC were unable to overcome visitors St Buryan at Grouter Park as the final score was deadlocked at 1-1. The point for the home side helps them climb two places into ninth with St Buryan remaining in twelfth.

Current division leaders West Cornwall were held to a 3-3 draw at Cornwall College as they played host to Mousehole Reserves. An important point for the visitors who find themselves in eleventh place, joint with Penryn Athletic Thirds and St Buryan with fourteen points.

Division 1

A top-of-the-pack battle could be found at Kellaway Park as Halsetown travelled to Helston to play against the town’s third team. Despite the conditions, Halsetown secured a comfortable 3-1 win over their rivals which enabled them to leapfrog them into third place by a single point. Helston drop into fourth on with twenty points.

Division 2

Mabe increased their lead at the top of the table as they hit 18 goals past visitors Storm at Penryn College. Lewis Pellow and Luke Murray continue to dominate the Top Goalscorer table as they bagged seven and five respectively for their club. Also on target for the home side were Ashley Lawrence, George Vinnicombe and two goals each from Liam Chinn and substitute Joe Benney. The situation at Storm still remains bleak as the club are still finding it difficult to recruit players, despite their best attempts during the last few weeks on various social media platforms to get more players involved.

Wendron United Third’s Captain Nick Tomba salvaged a point for the home side as his team welcomed Goonhavern Athletic Reserves to Underlane. The visitors took the lead in the first half only for the home skipper to equalise midway through the second. The point for the home side is enough to retain fourth spot whilst the visitors climb above Illogan RBL Thirds to occupy ninth.

Division 3

Falmouth DC secured their second victory on the bounce as they travelled to Lizard Argyle Reserves on a wet and blustery Saturday afternoon. The 6-1 win for the home side helps them climb two places into fifth whilst their opponents remain in tenth. On target for the visitors were Jack Froud, Lee Page, Bobby Dawes and a hat-trick courtesy of Fred Tomlinson.

Things are on the up at St Erme as they recorded only their third win of the season. Despite their difficult start to the campaign, the Castle Field based side secured a convincing 7-2 victory over hosts Mabe Reserves thanks to goals from Dave Hill and a brace from Luke Kelland and Jared Watson. Also on target for the visitors were substitutes Elliott Jolly and new signing Chris Tolley. On target for the home side but unable to prevent their sides’ defeat were Kieran Cocks and Matthew Gilbert.

Division 4

Penzance Reserves returned to winning ways after they recorded a 3-1 victory away to Hayle Thirds. Despite a fantastic performance between the sticks by the home goalkeeper, Penzance went in at the break with a 1-0 lead. Hayle made a few changes early on in the second half which enabled them to equalise on the hour mark. Despite constant pressure being applied by the home side, Penzance scored a further two goals to secure their fifth win of the season. On target for the visitors were Reece Evans, Josh Richards and substitute Tristan Hunter.

Ruan Minor recorded a 5-2 win as they welcomed Rosudgeon Reserves to the Recreation Ground. The victory for the home side enables them to climb one place into twelfth whilst Rosudgeon remain in sixth.

Grouter Park hosted its second game of the afternoon as home side Troon AFC Reserves hosted Newlyn Non-Athletico. The visitors raced in front with a 4-0 half time lead but a resolute Troon side returned from the break rejuvenated to pull the scores level thanks to Carl Lee, Andy Osborn, Joe Day and Michael Catterall. Catterall, currently in fine from in front of goal secured the victory for the home side with his second goal of the day on the eighty minute mark.

Ruan Minor 5-2 Rosudgeon Reserves

A good game for the crowd at Ruan Minor. Fair play, they all turned up and it was their day.

An evenly contested first half which finished 2 a piece. But, Ruan stepped it up 2nd half and we committed some individual mistakes (starting with myself) which forced us into chasing the game too much which ultimately meant we conceded goals without a reply ft 5-2.

Good luck to Ruan for the season, if you get that sort of turn out for every home game you will definitely go places.

West Cornwall 3 Mousehole Reserves 3

As the old saying goes, "a game of two halves". We were 2 nil up at half time and good value for it. Both teams worked extremely hard in an end to end game in difficult conditions. West Cornwall dominated the first 30 mins of the second half and went from 2-0 down to 3-2 up. A lad was sent off for them for foul and abusive language.

We kept kept plugging away and equalised in added time. Excellently refereed. A good bunch of boys at West Cornwall and good hospitality at the Robartes in Illogan. Again a good battle for the second week on a trot without a bad tackle in sight. Just two teams playing the game in the right way. In my opinion it was a good advert for the Trelawny league.

We look forward to welcoming champions Lizard Argyle next week.

Caught the last 15 minutes of the game above, so can't comment on the game as a whole or any incidents, but how it finished I'll never know. People couldn't even stand up! Fair to say the pitch has seen better days!! As for the result, conceded a soft one right at the death, seem to have hit a bit of a sticky patch, 3 draws on the bounce. No offence intended against anyone from Mousehole, but these are games we have to be winning if our aim is to push on this year. Congrats to you guys on your point though, played til the end and got something from the game.
