Premier Sixes Posted November 15, 2007 Report Posted November 15, 2007 A player has approached us aboout signing for us. We play junior football in Duchy 5, they played in the ECPL for half of last season and have signed for a combo team this season but haven't played a single game for them. so I know we have to reinstate them but do we need to put in 7 days or not for this player as there is junior / senior division between the two sides?
Soccer Follower Posted November 15, 2007 Report Posted November 15, 2007 Yes,a formal letter to the club(s) registered with this season.
King Kenny 7 Posted November 15, 2007 Report Posted November 15, 2007 No 7 Days required for this player because he is moving between to different leagues. We at St Austell have just done exactly what you have asked. Although it is common courtesy to inform the teams that the player has signed for that he wishes to sign for your team.
local_boy Posted November 15, 2007 Report Posted November 15, 2007 going from combo to duchy 5 though??
kellow Posted November 15, 2007 Report Posted November 15, 2007 its all the rage these days.its where you can have a laugh play footy and after the match have a good old knees up with all your fellow players as a team!!!!!!!!!
Guest Peppermint Posted November 15, 2007 Report Posted November 15, 2007 The word ambition seems to be missing. Surely most players would like to play at the highest level possible.
Soccer Follower Posted November 16, 2007 Report Posted November 16, 2007 Lee - I don't think it matters if the player is moving up the leagues, down or sideways to an equivalent standard, you still need to serve a notice on the club that he is registered for.
Julian Chenery Posted November 16, 2007 Report Posted November 16, 2007 The rule re reinstatement is quite clear - if a player has played 5 senior games in the current or preceeding season he needs to be reinstated.
Soccer Follower Posted November 16, 2007 Report Posted November 16, 2007 Mr.Secretary - I don't think the reinstatement was the issue,it was more of players moving leagues and whether or not a seven day approach letter needed to be served on club(s) where the player was registered. With agreement of course, this is sometimes waived.
