ONE FOR THE ANORAKS (ATTENDANCES)

:glare: One for the anoraks. It’s amazing what an idle mind can do. Thought I’d put the attendances in descending order for each division and their current league placing’s in brackets.

The top three teams in each division are all top of the attendances but its not the same for the bottom three teams Clyst are fourth from bottom in the Premier Division but the second best team in the division Dartmouth have the worst attendance average.

In Division One West the worst attendance average is at second bottom Goonhavern but the bottom club St Austell are 9th.

In Division One East the worst two clubs Crediton and Okehampton Argyle have the fifth and second best attendance records. The fourth placed team Totnes & Dartington have the worst attendance record and the second best team Exmouth Town is the fifth lowest supported team in the league.

Any observations?

Observations:

that Porthleven and Penzance went into the division right for them, as attendances have been solid for both clubs in this league due to the continuation of local derbies etc.

Surprised that Foxhole only average 57 - didn't people used to go on about Foxhole getting 100 to 150 a game on this site.

Sad that two former SWL clubs average less than 30.

Amazed that 49 people turn up to watch St Austell!

Compare those figures for Penzance Reserves in the Combo.

We have played 20 games and have been watched by 1042 people. Of these 11 games were at home and 9 away.

711 people have watched our home matches for an average of 64.

331 people have watched our away matches for an everage of 37.

So far highest home crowd was 112 against Ludgvan, lowest 37 against RNAS Culdrose.

So far highest away crowd was at 58 at Porthleven Reserves and the lowest 18 at St Day.

We have paid entrance money at every match apart from the 2 away games at St Day and RNAS Culdrose.

Don't know why St Day didn't come round rattling a box for a donation.

It is also interesting to see some ECPL sides looking at healthy attendances, expecially the reseve sides of SWPL teams. Obviously this can only be done on a head count and it would appear that the good gates are because these teams have more locally based players. I was surprised to see at the Torpoint v Saltash ECPL match last week a good handful of Saltash supporters at the game. Morwenstow and Bude have decent gates as does a few others.
