Graham Hill Posted November 12, 2007 Report Posted November 12, 2007 Where now in the 3rd round of the junior cup, who do you think are the strong contenders to go all the way?
Premier Sixes Posted November 12, 2007 Report Posted November 12, 2007 If we can get our strongest 11 out each round I think we'll do alright, if we put the 'squad' (8 regulars dropped to give the other guys a run out - almost the worst idea ever as we only just beat Biscovey reserves 5-3) players out like we did on Saturday we'll get murdered by Roseland.
treasure parks no 1 Posted November 14, 2007 Report Posted November 14, 2007 a few contenders this year based on looking at earlier round results. i think that Mawnan, portreath, troon, and helston from the west and as i don't know many teams from the east i will leave that up to somebody else.
Topcat Posted November 14, 2007 Report Posted November 14, 2007 Are you forgetting Chacewater, Mousehole and St Keverne. Anyone who fancies their chances at St Keverne need to think again, no disrespect but not a very nice pitch, well organised team, and some faithful fans to intimidate you. Do not under estimate them!
Soccer Follower Posted November 15, 2007 Report Posted November 15, 2007 Have to agree with Topcat that St.Keverne are certainly one of the strong favourites for the reasons outlined.Under estimate them at your peril! They have also turned over, among others,Chacewater,Mousehole,Falmouth Athletic and Mawnan this season.
Speedy Gonzales Posted November 15, 2007 Report Posted November 15, 2007 nt sure if their as strong away frm home tho,im gona stik my neck out n say portreath or chacewater
Julian Chenery Posted November 15, 2007 Report Posted November 15, 2007 With St Stephens Borough and Edgcumbe out it has to be St Dominick.
bushy Posted November 15, 2007 Report Posted November 15, 2007 falmouth town will be a hard team to beat
Guest omerta Posted November 15, 2007 Report Posted November 15, 2007 thanks for the vote of confidence bushy! but we at town do not have the strength in depth to go much further without a reserve side we are reliant on a full squad of 14 that when affected by injuries and suspensions leave us short of quality i feel this will affect st.keverne as well as the season goes on. we play our 3rd rd opponents this saturday in the league so it will be intersting to work out a gameplan for the cuptie at their place. i stick to my original tips prior to rd 1-portreath or troon from the mining worth a shout but mawnan with their experience and best back up(see the strength of their ressies in the packet) at least half of jasons squad would hold their own in div1 are still my favs
Speedy Gonzales Posted November 15, 2007 Report Posted November 15, 2007 good shout omerta 4got about mawnan lol
Guest ggr_garth Posted November 16, 2007 Report Posted November 16, 2007 With the Rickard twins back at St Dennis maybe they can make a push again this year.
