Apparently st just were told today's game at helston was off only this morning, because the home team wanted to go to a fete.  Perhaps the prize in the lucky dip was a rulebook donated by the fixture and registration secretary. Sorry it rained, vicar !

The club was being used as part of the town's festival I believe an there was probably some miscommunication between league, and both clubs.

The Holman's scorer on Tuesday night was Frank Wharton, with his first senior goal.

Scorers today at Newquay were Gary Bell, Adam Selley and Tom Hogarth in that order. I thought the Newquay goalkeeper was very good making a lot of last ditch saves to keep the peppermints in the game. Think it's fair to say we could've scored a lot more but for his performance. Whereas we were calling upon our fifth (5th) different goalkeeper of the season, how about that for strength in depth :P Would say Tom Hogarth was man of the match today, great defending and a goal to boot

cheers

There us a distinction between somebody telling ctb or whoever edits this website that something had happened and the helston club or Its representative on the league management committee contacting st just with facts about whether there was a match or not five days in advance as per league rules. If it were the othet way round Mr Roberts would take pleasure in getting st just fined for the breach. In this case he will merely re fixture the game for a nice sunny evening after helston firsts have completedxall their fixtures and fancy a kick around. This has been going on for the last quarter century and only the grim reaoer will change it. Apologies for not knowing how to do capital letters on this fancy phone my kids ibsust on my using.

Good game yesterday at Perranwell against St Agnes,a game of 2 penalties,a good point for the well . Thanks to Mandy,Kimmo and the team for all coming into club after game. Also to all the St Agnes supporters, who when I went around to do the collection, they all put in what combo states for entrance to game's,you wouldn't believe how many team supporters do come to Perranwell and bring any money with them, being a public field we can not charge on the gate and just ask for a donation.

Once again a big thank you to Mandy ,Kimmo and all there supporters, lthey are a credit to your club.

The league were told about the unavailability of Helstons ground five days in advance as per league rules!....We offered to play the game on Friday evening under floodlights but St.Just declined

I may have been a bit harsh on Falmouth Town Reserves in recent weeks but that was a fantastic result for the youngsters. Credit where credit is due, congratulations to all.

You shouldn't be harsh on the youngsters, you could go to prison for that.

Helston and tinners.....the league were told, I.e.there was a conversation between some helstonians. I expect Mr robbers knew alll about the fete when he drew up the fixtures. Old story, sending the tinners to play the first team in a reserve fixture under lights. Been doing it for 25 Years, like I said. Thought this was a saturday league. In the vernacular, lol lol lmao.

With the first team having a game the following day sure that would of not been the case

Carharrack 5 Illogan RBL Res 2

A confident display for Carharrack in adverse weather conditions saw the Reds take all three points.

Carharrack took a early goal after only 20 minutes though a Ryan Stephens volley inside the box smashing the back of the net. Carharrack soon extended their lead through defender Bradley Leviers and once more through striker Ed Wilton. It wasn't all plain sailing for the home side with visiting striker Chris Shakley missed many clear goal scoring opportunities before the interval. Illogan were rewarded for their effort after a ball kicked high by visitor Josh Hoon in the sky bounced over the gk for a goal back to go into the interval.

With the weather getting worse Carharrack attacked and soon the pressure got the better of Illogan who let in a OG inside the box. Carharrack finished off the game when winger James Davies hit home a header 25' before full time. Not to be out done Illogan again kick the ball high and in the hammering rain Carharrack GK slipped the ball through his gloves for a own goal.

A good game played in good spirits.

Only when defending the people's socialist republic of pard country from invading hordes of nouveau riche bandits who had already stolen our best players. Don't start me on the history of our everlasting victimhood, there isn,t enough web space for the chronicle. OK,not the whole first team. Just five or six squad players. Helston beat Holman's against expectation. Midweek availabilities are jolly helpful. Culdrose next Tuesday. Funny the way Mr robbers never fixtures them against a reserve team inidweek for gander sauce ? Must be fair on one thing, though. Last year was the first Saturday visit to mount wise for st just in a while. As usual,we start the season with 5 out of 6 at home. Mr robbers won,t send his mates down lafrowda late season in wind and fog. Much better to make sure the tinners have 7 or 8 of the last 10 away. OK, it might work out that way one year. But every year ?

no midweek availability at all as both the first team and 3rd team had matches that same evening when the seconds beat Holmans!

Fair play then. Even with Mr robbers in your corner, don'tsuppose he can be worth more than six or nine points a season while he and his missus only control two of the three leagues. Spose he's not likely to be invited to take over the swpl as I understand it is quite serious and properly run. Tis funny the way you helston boys never get your combo side fixtures against any swpl clubs in midweek, ever. Not for a quarter of a century. Just one of them there coincidences, I spect.

Oh Rodney...I really thought a man of your so called intellect and intelligence would of done his research before posting.  Falmouth Town Res v Helston Res on Tuesday 20th September .....Helston Res v Porthleven Res Tuesday 4th October.   Oh   and what is the other league your friend Mr Roberts runs??
