Dave Deacon
ARGYLE COMMUNITY TRUST PRESS RELEASE Wednesday, August 31, 2016 FOOTBALL AND EDUCATION DO MIX NOW the dust is settling on GCSE results and with many young people still unsure of what path to take, we have an answer full of opportunity. The Futsal programme based at Carn Brea in Redruth provides accomplished footballers with a chance to improve their skills, while working toward a BTEC Level 3 qualification. We have seen a number of participants from recent years progress on to higher education and fully-fledged careers in the sports industry. We are looking for young players of school-leaving age with a passion to play football at a high level to take academic studies under the guidance of Plymouth Argyle, whilst at the same time honing their footballing talents. The programme sees 16-18 years olds participate in a number of academic studies alongside a football scholarship run by Plymouth Argyle. The programme is designed to give people excellent academic qualifications that can take them into universities, overseas universities, employment and work places.
