Sticker Reserves 3 - 4 Probus Reserves

Great game to watch on very hot afternoon, with both teams fielding decent squads. Sticker had better of possession but lacked finishing and Probus probably had fewer but better chances. Probus 3-2 down with 5 to go and got a late equaliser then snatched win with a 35 yard chip over keeper. Unfair score line surprising both teams - but no one said football was fair

Great facilities / team and staff at Sticker - made Probus feel really welcome with lovely food and cold beer in their club - credit to local football. Good luck to both their sides at Sticker as they will be there or there abouts in both their leagues

Grampound 4-1 Threemilestone

Grampound Res. 3-1 Threemilestone Res.

Thanks to TMS for bringing teams for 2 games today. Hot conditions for both teams and played in an excellent spirit. Grampound edged both games with good performances and are really optimistic for the new season with the squads that have been built.

St Minver Reserves 6 Storm 2

Game played in nice spirits. Not sure who the ref was but he was OUTSTANDING.

Superb set up at St Minver, great pitch and lovely little clubhouse.

Thanks for hosting us!

Ref was Gary Cornish, certainly the best ref I've encountered.

Thanks for the game today, was thoroughly enjoyable and as you said, played in the right spirit.

Hope you gents have a successful season.

are Grampound strong this season or TMS poor not so much? will both TMS sides be playing their home games at Malpas? or will they return to their ground some time soon?

yes always disappointing when teams do not enter into an away clubhouse, a lot of effort normally goes into laying on some after match food and the excuse of having to shoot off due to family / wedding function is utter nonsense, a little respect goes a long way, and 5 mins of anyone's time wouldn't of been too much to ask, after all with the bloody traffic around you could of been stuck in it for that time anyway and been no worse off!

I'd personally prefer not to comment on the decisions in that game :) As for our performance, we didn't really find our feet until the final ten minutes where we actually started stringing some passes together. With quite a few new signings and plenty of changes throughout the game, it was never going to be a great, technical game. That's not a clear representation on how either of our teams will play this season.

As for the hospitality, I had to shoot off straight away as I'm away in Portsmouth with work. I got a lift with someone so they had to take me home, plus another with work. So there's three that left early because of other arrangements. I can't speak for the other lads, I'm sure that there were valid reasons. Bare in mind it was hot, everyone had a good run out and you do not have showers. Regardless of whether I had to leave for work or not, I would have gone home for a shower first, which I think would be the same reason everyone else left.

As for the referee fee, the game was arranged through our manager. It was down to you guys to arrange that sort of thing. We personally don't take fees off the other team for friendlies at our place, but if that's what you wanted, you should have asked. PM me if you still want that arranged and I will get half the fee transferred to you, aswell as a reimbursement for the chips and bread.

Thanks for the game, good luck for the rest of the season.

No write up from fudge!!!

 Deeply disappointed ???

St Ives mariners 2 - 5 Lanner FC

After 4 pre season training sessions (8 people attending each)

We came to our first pre season game of the year. Down at a much improved and nicely organised Nancegollan pitch.

With a strong squad of 15 (managed to all turn up to games ?)

We put out a strong starting eleven with a couple of new faces.

First 20mins I think st Ives can safely say we carved them open numerous times with quick one touch passing and great movement for a pre season opener, we created a good 10 chances in this 20 minute period, taking one of the first of these chances in the opening minutes we was 1-0 up. But what could only be put down to rusty finishing tekkers,  st ives were lucky not to be going in 7 or 8 down at half time.

Few changes at the break and we started brightly again, netting a couple early goals we was 4-0 up. Bet yet again with only 1 shot on the Lanner goal from st ives our finishing was poor again and we could offered a further 4/5 goals. With more changes in last 10 st ives pushed the pressure on and got a couple late goals.

Great game and great sportsmanship from both sides. Thank you to st ives for the hospitality.

Good luck in the season from all at Lanner FC.
