No more than at Bodmin. Both poorly run clubs.

Not sure how you can suggest Bodmin are a poorly run club - first team won all but everything they could and reserves won the league cup beating a few Premier sides along the way. Money doesn't always guarantee they win everything and so must be doing something extra right.

This season coming Parkway have joined the "money" stakes with new chairman setting out his stall with promotion the target. Personally I can't see the sense in too much being spent, but having said that, if he wants to spend it, why not?

Why have a pop at Bodmin and Parkway about being poorly run Clubs.  They are not young Clubs they are well established and have been for many years.  Yes Bodmin have spent a lot of money over the years, and Parkway are about to do the same, that is down to them especially the Committees who run the Clubs

Bodmin- Chairman personally tried to drag st austells name through the gutter in this forum and for some reason it was simply brushed aside. Never ending cycle of players who we know only join club for money. Not on about what they have won Dave.

Give us some facts why you think they are poorly run clubs. I have been following Parkway for 6 years and they are and have been sponsored and ran in a very enthusiastic / business like manner . The committee put in a lot of time and there is a lot of work behind the scenes on the pitch / the bar / food hut and from the Supporters Club.

So , what dirt you got Sir ?

I joined this forum as I'm interested football as a whole and not one individual team. Perhaps people should only sign in on here with their proper names, not alias.  Bickering, jealousy and some times outright trash being spouted. You all might know who each other is so why the nicknames. Thought FB was bad enough.

We are delighted that Paul has joined Parkway. Yes he did email other clubs and yes he did do some work for Callington last season. However is that a reason to not want someone of his experience on board at the club. Or reason to not do a press release about it! (Anyone who knows me will know marketing is my business so would be daft to not use my experience surely?)

Saying that the players we have signed aren't good enough is a little unfair some of them are young and have only had one or 2 seasons at this level and we will see over the season how they develop, and some are experienced at this level and will be able to help some of the younger ones learn, whilst using their experience of the league on the pitch.

Every club at this level has ambition and it would be wrong if they didn't.

It's called football, full of nicknames, banter, and jealousy.

If you supported a team all your life - like most on here, you would understand it.

You would probably be called pee pee .......see what I mean (?)

Hi Mark and welcome to the forum.  What actually will Mr Sturrock be doing for the club ? Training sessions , tactics or overseeing the running of the business ?

Paul will be helping with some training sessions and also analysing performances and advising management team of ways to improve players. He will be doing this for both first and reserve team. He will also be helping the youth coaches to learn more training skills.

Paul will not be involved in the business side of the club, however any advise he has to help increase awareness of the club or wee nuggets of advise, we will obviously be willing to listen as well.

What a coupe this is getting Paul Sturrock on board at Plymouth Parkway. Couldn't ask for anybody more experienced to have at this sort of level. Certainly a club with ambition, and there's no harm in that at this level. You've got to give them credit for the willingness to succeed and climb the ladder. I wish them all the best.

Parkway will go Western League next season I think, especially with the money they are spending with their new chairman, they are going to buy the league!

I'm sure with the addition of teams from Argyle and Tiverton, winning the League and gaining promotion will not be a certainty, for anyone. With the new Chair at Parkway explaining his ethos towards guiding the club in a business like manner how can anyone assume they are throwing money around. Indeed the addition of younger, less experienced players to complement the senior players has to be commended.

I find comments such as buying the League, childish and irresponsible, especially from newly appointed League Officialls.

Good luck to Markppfc and everyone else at Parkway for the future.

So how much are Plymouth Parkway spending to buy the league?  Does it come at a price?

Is it not the given right of a club to spend what it wishes?

No one can buy a league, what we are doing at parkway is just trying to make sure our players develop into a strong team to challenge for promotion, while ensuring we have a strong business mentality to be able to progress to the western league should the option be available.

As has been stated yes I/we are ambitious and we will try and achieve the promotion goal, however there are lots of good teams in this league all challenging for the same glory.

Looking at the teams in the league and the teams coming up there are some good matches that will be great for fans of every club this season. I am really looking forward to the season starting.
