paul pearce
True, if you don't want 2 pay that much don't go, but!. That high price can keep neutrals away. £7 might have been more realistic but expect Argyle are charging a fortune just to come. Agree, keep up the good work paul. panda
True Paul.I know when I was involved with aclub ArgylE wanted to charge a large sum to covet expenses. Good luck to st blazey and hope you male some revenue out of it☺
leedsunited
I was informed Argyle wanted £1500 for then to play down at St.Blazey. They would need to charge around a tenner as Alan Carey will demand a large amount for his playing budget i was told on Sunday by a fellow euchure competitor, Hence the high admission fee! Jasa
Ted, Paul is a very good friend of mine. He would be the first to admit he wouldn't have made it £10 if he wasn't getting in free by being a steward. Then again he still claims he's in his 30s but he's closer to the £5 price than he admits. chairman
Full marks to S.B for trying to get back some kudos after wallowing for too long. Takes money and effort which I hope will be rewarded. Presumably home club players doing it for expenses only. Good luck to all involved.

leedsunited
You will not see me 100% Cornish, we have a fixture at the very picturesque town of Dartmouth. Think my cousin Melville is planning on going to watch. Through the fence knowing him as he will not pay those prices i doubt!
RAPPO
To be fair to Blazey, you would have to pay £22/24 quid to watch Argyle during the league season at Home Park so if you put it into perspective it's a fair price really. Never begrudge giving a tenner or fiver to the local teams, rather than the £50-70 to watch a premier league match as good as it is!! #grassroots ?⚽️

100%cornish
just back from watching the match and it ended 9-0 to Plymouth St Blazey where very poor and if it wasnt for the St Blazey keeper Painterit would of been 20 Same St Blazey side as last year except old ex Newquay player Huw Morgan there only signing what i could see and Tornado Bello with his blonde hair but he played quite well in the 1st half but Argyle goalie in the 1st half Dorel or McCormick in the 2nd half i cannot remember having a save to make . A very good crowd must of been at least 2000 there but 1 thing that was wrong a so called fan was baiting Argyle goalie McCormick and singing the song to the tune to Yankie doodle dandy but he was singing how many kids you killed to do doo ra this fan should be thrown out and banned from life he was by the players tunnel he should of been kicked out of the ground Luke knows he done wrong but the poor bloke has to live with this for the rest of his life . On to Truro to see Truro put up a better performance than Blazey did this afternoon

On to Truro to see Truro put up a better performance than Blazey did this afternoon A bit unfair Cornish!! St Blazey were poor but they've had one training session so far and the gulf in quality and fitness was obvious. This is a game you would normally have a month or so into pre season surely but the money St Blazey would have potentially made from the game made it a no brainer for the committee i'd imagine. The time to judge them will be when they play teams around their standard not when they've been thrown to the lions??

100%cornish
I thought St Blazey may of had a few new signings not just Huw Morgan and people on here said Tornado had gone well his hair is different colour but hes still there i thought him and Painter had very good games but the team was completly played off the park this afternoon by a really good Argyle side . Blazey should of made a nice amount this afternoon with the entrance fee program 50 50 and the canteen well done to them and i wish them well in the new season mid table i think
RAPPO
Crazy. No break at all these days!! Finish the season end of May and go back training in June!!! First or second week in July plenty of time to go back!! Have at least a five or six week break!! Couple of weeks fitness twice a week then a few friendlies against sides of different abilities to get your team shape and match sharpness into the players ready to go for middle of August. See some teams got seven or eight friendlies!! Joke! The players should be raring to go for the first game not knackered before the season starts!! Just a personal opinion of course!! ? SteveM
I doubt it was 2000, but it was a good turnout. Argyle creamed St Blazey, but anyone who thought it'd be a close game is deluded. These are professional footballers, training week in week out and honing their craft, versus a group of lads that enjoy the game but have jobs and other commitments. I think St Blazey should be reasonably proud, not least because they lost more heavily to Witheridge in the Vase last season! Hopefully the club have made a profit through the gate and behind the bar and can invest the money back into the squad or the facilities.
mockey jackson
I think the scoreline is an embarrassment, should never be loosing by more than 6 clear goals
RAPPO
Not easy playing against full time pro teams if they click on the day. As Addick and SteveM have already said really, they eat right, drink right, rest right, train on fitness and with the ball, every player knows their job in a team shaped and organised and worked on in training all week and turn up in a luxury coach. They don't play for a hour and a half twice a week and do 40/50 hour working weeks, shift work, night shifts etc etc and have to rush to the game driving themselves in traffic!! Ive played in top SWL sides and we've beaten pro teams on the odd occasion but more often than not you're chasing shadows just doing doggie runs between players pinging it around for fun! To give you an example I played in a superb Falmouth team that only lost 1-3 to a great Aston Villa side pre season who had beaten Man Utd 3-1 in the league cup final a couple months earlier!! Five days later we played Shrewsbury and lost 0-7!! Didn't get near them! It's all on the day, but if they click you're in trouble. Good to see a great crowd at Blazey and hope they made a few bob out of it. Not fair to judge them against today's opposition. Hi Mike usually not bad at guessing an attendance, so I would say anything from 800 - 1000 there today. ⚽️?
leedsunited
Disappointed to of missed this fixture but we had a fixture in Dartmouth, to which we scored 10 goals ourselves! Starting off where we left off!! My cousin Melville did attend however & he said the attendance was quoted as 704!! On to the game he said Argyle missed a host of chances & it should of been 18/20 goals. Also he heard comments from some Argyle/neutrals stating that the St.Blazey side were the worst SWPL side they have seen in a very long time. JENGLE
It was always going to be a bit of thumping when you think about it, after all one team is professional and about 7 leagues above the other. But that's no reflection on how St Blazey will do this season. All this game was a good work out and a good experience for them, nothing else. I'm sure they knew they were never going to get anywhere near Plymouth Argyle considering it was their strong first team squad. As pre season develops I'm sure St Blazey will come good just in time for the season to begin.
Greenandblack
Not often I bother to post on here but must say there has been some rubbish spouted about this game! JENGLE
I'm sure they'll do well this season at St Blazey. They've got a good manager in Alan Carey. Nice ground too. Would be nice to visit their ground again this season.
JENGLE
alfie88, there isn't anything wrong with it in a pre season friendly like this example between St Blazey and Plymouth Argyle. However, completely different matter if it was a league game.

RAPPO
Thanks Greenandblack!!! Far too many years experience of chasing shadows pre season!!!! Was speaking to Danny in the middle of the night at work and I reckon Blazey will be fine this season, him and Alan been around too long! They're winners and know the local game, Blazey are still one of the biggest clubs in the county as far as I'm concerned. ?⚽️?

I think if you look back at older posts i have actually congratulated St.Blazey on last years achievements on many occasions. I also spend money down at the club & had an affiliation with them for many years. In those years i have built up great friendships with Martin Richards ( Chairman) Amos Putt, & the late Brian Brokenshire. So i am entitled to my opinion, & listen to relations/friends that also watch games/support St.Blazey & if they tell me its a poor performance or a great performance i will take on board what they say. So to repeat what my cousin heard/agreed with at Saturdays fixture its the worst St.Blazey team in along time i believe him until i see otherwise. It seems Cat Weasel you are very interested, are you one of the players that contributed to the performance....possibly & now in a panic to paint over cracks..
