Percy Stephens Cup- Holmans 2 V Falmouth Athletic 4 AET.

Athletic took the lead mid-way through the first half. Holmans created a few chances in the latter part of the half with their final ball going astray on most breaks. Half-time 0-1. After the restart Holmans came on strong and equalized after 10 mins, with only 15 minutes remaining Holmans took the lead after some poor defending. With the Holmans manager taking the linesman flag for the rest of the game caused controversy, as after a few "Dubious" decisions the referee allowed Athletic to play on although the linesman had his flag up, Athletic equalized. This turned out to be the last kick of the game. In extra time the referee took the holmans linesman,s flag away from their manager over remarks made to an Athletic player. Athletic completely dictated the game and scored in both periods of extra time. Game played in great spirit by PLAYERS from both teams in a highly contested cup-tie.

Another win for Roseudgeon - played seven, won seven, the latest against Frogpool. A great match played in fantastic spirit by both teams. Great atmosphere and good banter between both sets of players. A pleasure as always to be on the same pitch as Rappo. Goes to show you never lose the goalscoring instinct.

Good luck Frogpool for the rest of the season.

A good team with a nice mix of youth and experience coming together

Carharrack AFC vs Marazion Blues FC

Carharrack’s league form pressed ahead with a comprehensive display over Marzaion Blues in FHFL Div 2. The match was fairly balanced until the 16th minute when Carharrack winger Sean Wills scored a stunning goal from 25 yards outside the area. The fluidity of the game continued, however it was the ever reliable Liam Bray who extended Carharrack’s lead with 30 mins played. Not to be dismayed, Marazion forward Matt Gendell pulled one back for the visitors just before half-time by pushing hastily past the home defence. Emerging back after the interval, each team kept their composure with both goalkeepers saving vital opportunities, but during the last quarter Bray scored twice more in creative fashion to gain Carharrack maximum points.

What happened at Wendron we played against them at the start of the season and there was no way they were that bad to be conceding 18 goals in a game that is a goal every 5 mins were they short or something.

I am glad that we have got Pendeen next week as there confidence must be shot to pieces with only scoring 18 goals in one game :clapper::thumbsup:;) ;)

Mawgan 4 Perranwell 1

a good game played in the right spirit with some good football being played Mawgan were the more dominant side but Perranwell never gave up and the game was a lot closer than the scoreline suggests.

Martin (mac) McPhilbin opened the scoring with a header (yes a header). Then Eddie Stewart curled a freekick into the far corner. Spike Hughes headed in after a great ball from Matt Ruse and Ben Trerise rounded off the scoring for Mawgan with a shot that took a (slight) deflection and looped up over the keeper.

The Perranwell goal was a well struck volley from the edge of the area, that made it 3-1 and Perranwell were on top for the next 15mins after that but we came back into it for a well deserved win. The ref controlled things well and let the game flow when he could 9/10

Good luck to Perranwell for the rest of the season a good side who should be there-abouts at the end of the season.

Falmouth Ath Res V Porthleven Rangers, Was called off when confirming the game with the port secretary, I informed him that we had no official referee, he declined to play as Port are currently in the top few teams. I feel personally as Port were the away team it should be their decision whether to play with no ref. Falmouth Ath accepted ports decision with no hard feelings and look forward to playing them later in the season!
