Penryn Athletic 5 (Oliver Moody 4 Kevin Lawrence 14 Luke Brabyn 32 Luke Brabyn 57 Sean Johnston 85 )

Helston 4 (Charlie Young 9 Jason Robertson 16 Andrew Westgarth 51 Ashley Stidwell 62)

Without doubt the most value for money game I've witnessed so far this season!

Penryn took the lead on five occasions, which the league leaders matched almost all the way!

It finished with the home side taking all three points through a late goal from substitute Sean Johnston, with the Blues suffering not only their first defeat of the season, but also having two players dismissed. Ben Stidwell sent off as the last man and then further reduced to nine men in stoppage time when Ashley Stidwell picked up two yellow cards in the space of a minute with frustration more than evident.

Referee Nigel D'Arcy will no doubt come in for some stick from certain camps, but as a complete neutral I would praise him for having the courage for a couple of the yellows he gave. He added to the great entertainment a crowd of around 200 was served up by two teams not afraid to go forward at every opportunity. Great stuff!

Think you pointed out his weakness here, trying to perform and be centre of attention of the 200+ watching! He deffo was the main act of entertainment as well, loud shouting and over excited hand movements

Cos when he books a player for being injured which results in him being sent off...books a player for diving when he clearly had his ankles clipped...but does not book players for some terrible tackles etc he is always going to be talked about. ...not to mention the over elaborate hand signals that would of not looked out of place on an airport runway. ...thought he was trying to land a plane at one point!!

Good game, not spoiled by the referee, no really bad tackles....few niggly ones. The referee probably got fed up with the theatrical stuff from Helston, ye gods, every tackle resulted in a man dying on the Helston side. Penryns players aren't big enough to hurt a fly.

Penryn shaded a very good game, with Helston adding to the value, they looked full of confidence from their good start to the season and that looked to be their downfall....a little to confident perhaps ?

A couple of their goals a bit on the lucky side with a couple of bloomers from the Penryn defence enabled a good game to take place.

Helston looked a bit stuck in their ways and unable to handle Penryns movement and passing off, and on the ball.

Kevin Lawrence terrified Helston all game, and was the man of the match for me.

Sendings off, both deserved, handball and last man....by, by. Booked for getting injured ! didn't look injured when he got up, and didn't look injured walking off the pitch ? as I said before, the referee had enough of the simulation, or as I call it, injured, fouled, my arse.

Good entertainment for all.

I would hazard a guess the ref asked him to get up, and he sat there (injured) mmmm! don't think so and didn't look it. To many times in the match Helston players made a meal of any contact and he got fed up with it.....that's what it looked like to me.

The match again takes second place to a very good referee in my opinion, picked up the fouls, reacted when he had to, dealt with the theatrics and generally had good control.

The match itself was excellent for all there I would have thought, two good teams going at each others throats from the off, the early goal set the tempo, and it just continued. Penryn carved Helston open time after time and seemed they had no plan to stop them.

Helston played well and with confidence but seemed unable to change what was happening in front of them, obviously coached to death and started to look a bit stereotyped at the end.

All in all a good night with Helston staying well in the bar afterwards, didn't see the ref come in afterward, which was a pity.
