Paul
Another stunning afternoons weather and a decent pitch to play on. A crooked old wooden stand and a nice mud mound to get a good view of the action from behind the goal. That should have set the seen for a St Blazey victory. Team news wasnt good. Andrew Key from the 2nd team played in goal as Palmer had concussion. He made some good saves 2nd half. Neil Burton and Jay Isbell missing. Matt Parsons made it as the teams came out! So the heart of the team had gone. After 7 minutes St Blazey were 3-0 down. The defence was all over the place. With in a few minutes it was 4-0 and with Argyle going 1-0 down at Stoke the day was looking a wasted one!! To St Blazeys credit they pulled themselves together. 3 subs used, re-shaped and suddenly we looked half decent again. St Blazey pulled one back and pilled forward looking for another before the break. 2nd half St Blazey came out and continued to look better. The game then looked to be well over when a lofted ball forward for Shepton left Andrew in goal to get to hands on it only to be bundled over and leave the Shepton player to take the ball round him and make it 5-1. Stunned wasnt the word as it wasnt ruled out!! One of those thats given as a fowl 99.999 times out of a 100!! Crys of were gona win 5-6 rang out and the lads responded. Nanks smashed a cracking effort from the edge of the box and then Bradshaw curled a lovely effort in off the post to make it 5-3!! The travelling fans at this stage were getting right behind the lads. Shepton looked so poor at this stage and it made you wonder with the personel we had missing, would we have ever been in this situation. Still they poored forward, a header cleared off the line, Parsons had a power driver well saved, another effort of the bar!! Gaps did appear at the back and Andrew Key made some good saves to keep the game alive. Sadly, it wasnt to be, but the team spirit was top class and the never say die attitude is great to see. The most famous of quotes is now ready to come out.........we can concentrate on the league now!! :drink:

Paul
Amazing though, you still managed to make a good match of it Nanks. Good finish for the 2nd goal. Bradshaws wasnt bad either. Sadly, we just couldnt do it.
