midlandlilywhite Posted April 30, 2014 Report Posted April 30, 2014 Hopefully this doesn't turn out to be "after The Lord Mayor's show" but is a keenly contested local derby. St Blazey should be out to avenge their Senior Cup Semi-final by the Lillywhites. St Austell should be out to complete a treble and continue their recent domination over their local rivals. Good luck to Laffs and the lads. Updates please.
Mike Odgers Posted April 30, 2014 Report Posted April 30, 2014 Reading F A Cup Qualification guidlines on the SWPL website-AFC St.Austell look OK but its doubtful for St.Blazey who would miss out for the first time since 1961-62 season
midlandlilywhite Posted April 30, 2014 Author Report Posted April 30, 2014 Mike, I believe from Phil Hiscox that St Austell have qualified for the F A Cup next season but St Blazey have not done so.
Rocket Ronnie Posted April 30, 2014 Report Posted April 30, 2014 FT st blazey 0-1 st austell, 72, rickard
midlandlilywhite Posted April 30, 2014 Author Report Posted April 30, 2014 Full time - St Blazey 0 St Austell 1 (Rickard 72) Excellent treble lads , well done.
MOUNTAINEER Posted April 30, 2014 Report Posted April 30, 2014 Cornwall's new status is being reported up country that Kernow enjoys the same status in Europe as England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales therefore, like in those Countries shouldn't the winners of our domestic league qualify for European club competition and the Cornwall County team for the International nations competition. If the government are serious they should provide a Stadium for Cornwall. AFC St Austell winning the Cornwall Senior Cup should be their qualification into Europe.
Paul Posted May 1, 2014 Report Posted May 1, 2014 Another night of missed chances. Tornado missed a great chance putting just wide of the post and lewis Coombes hitting the post with the keeper well beaten. St Austell didnt score until both central defenders had gone off injured and never looked like scoring either. St Blazeys general play is good but they cannot score at the moment. A shame this game was played so late in the season because it didnt have anything on it. Probably less than 150 there. If St Blazey dont qualify for the F.A cup that will be more disapointing than anything. What was the ruling for this season Mike? It wont be the first time we have missed out. The year we finished in the bottom 3 we didnt play in the F.A cup the following season.

MOUNTAINEER Posted May 6, 2014 Report Posted May 6, 2014 Mike, I believe from Phil Hiscox that St Austell have qualified for the F A Cup next season but St Blazey have not done so. Sat 10th May 2014 at Wembley FA Vase Final - Sholing FC v West Auckland Town (Rough Justice Perhaps). Next season sees Sholing FC return to the Southern League, last season they left the Southern League saying they could not afford to play Division 1 S/W.(Finished 7th just outside a play off spot) Now following their Wembley appearance in the FA Vase next Saturday, they will be back, they have virtually the same team, those who moved from level 4 with them to level 5 number in excess of double figures (I can name 10). There is no mention of them not being able to afford Southern league football this time, last season their average gate was 99 with league winning and Vase success that average has increased to 123. I think clubs who do a Sholing should not be allowed to enter a lesser graded national competition with the same team for one or two years, it makes a mockery of the efforts of say ST BLAZEY who may be refused entry to the FA Cup after all the years they have competed, the FA is an ASS. Many people ask the same question as the headline of the following Link -."Who the hell are Sholing?" Link: http://gameofthepeople.com/2014/05/02/so-who-the-hell-are-sholing/ I think County F.A's need to get tougher with the Football Association.
leedsunited Posted May 6, 2014 Report Posted May 6, 2014 Disagree, because all cornish clubs strive to participate in the fa.cup & if you dont meet the magic points total as stated by 'midlandlilywhite' in a previous post then you should miss out. What you've achived in previous seasons should count for nothing. Its no fault apart from the clubs themselves if they are not good enough to reach that total.
MOUNTAINEER Posted May 6, 2014 Report Posted May 6, 2014 LeedsUnited, Us oldies must try to remember the rules have changed at the lower end of the pyramid, however it does appear unfair that complete teams can drop down the pyramid without penalty. Vauxhall Motors have been an established Conference North side for years, this is the last season at level 2, they are dropping down to level 7 to play in the West Cheshire League, their FA Cup status could be interesting, their reasons are an attempt to SAVE the CLUB - Good publicity (I don't think) for Vauxhall who sponsor ENGLAND.
Paul Posted May 7, 2014 Report Posted May 7, 2014 To be honest though, at this level, what a club achives One season will have little baring on what happens the Next. It should be all about letting clubs at this level take part as long as the grounds are up to standard. Maybe the F.A. are worried St Blazey will win it!!
MOUNTAINEER Posted May 7, 2014 Report Posted May 7, 2014 Paul you are right about the differences between one year and the next, the number of times a Manager decides to leave taking most of his better players with him or a group of players deciding to leave etc. The website http://www.nonleaguedaily.com has been updated and has a lot of interesting articles, reading it this week I thinki it is wait and see to find out who plays who next season, many clubs are taking voluntary relegation for financial reasons, many not of their own making, flooding is playing a big part towards clubs problems, the top leagues in England dictate via the FA the games structure often to the detriment of those further down the pyramid, surely it is time for a proper slush fund to help those clubs who are seeing their clubs being washed away, unlike the Premiership at the lower end it is not raining money.
