Suzie Chow Posted April 29, 2014 Report Posted April 29, 2014 Falmouth Town are delighted to announce that Wayne Hughes has been appointed as the new combination manager for next season with Ian Grant as his assistant. Kevin Mc Hale will remain in position as coach. Wayne and Ian are both local to Falmouth and have both played for Town. Wayne playing in SWPL under Neil Phillips and Steve Massey and Ian in Neil Phillips combination side. Wayne also managed combination at Town under 1st team manager Gary Penhaligon. Ian helped Falmouth Athletic retain their position in the combination league last season. Both are well known and respected figures in Cornish footballing circles
Mr Mo Posted April 30, 2014 Report Posted April 30, 2014 Great appointment, hopefully take the team & club forward!
Deadcert Posted May 1, 2014 Report Posted May 1, 2014 How can they take the team forward, when town have reappointed managers from yesteryear.
Suzie Chow Posted May 2, 2014 Author Report Posted May 2, 2014 Older and wiser Deadcert.... they both know the drill. Granty knows the local scene and young players. Wayne has every intention of bringing young players in with a view to nurturing them. They work well together and are commited to the job in hand. A really positive appointment and you in typical Deadcert fashion spread your negativity like butter to bread.
Deadcert Posted May 3, 2014 Report Posted May 3, 2014 That's a bit harsh Suzie considering my opinion on appointing Robbie + Les was spot on, (although you was more optimistic) My opinion on appointing Denty has been spot on, as the team is progressing well. So maybe this time I will be wrong?
SWFC Posted May 4, 2014 Report Posted May 4, 2014 Cracking appointment in my opinion. 2 very passionate chaps, with good experience and local knowledge. Both played for town in very good squads. Big season next season for town I predict.
