Hecter8 Posted April 28, 2014 Report Posted April 28, 2014 Someone has asked me to post this on here:Can anyone give me an idea of how much each combo team has to pay to the league in fees at the start of every season? Affiliation/ 'annual subscription' fees etc. I already know about CCFA fees and insurance etc - I just want to know about Combo league fees. Thanks.
isaac rosenberg Posted April 29, 2014 Report Posted April 29, 2014 Used be £35 in the early nineties, then went up to £50.Dunno about now.
pointers Posted April 29, 2014 Report Posted April 29, 2014 Why do you have to affiliate to the combo league full stop?? Hypothetically speaking could I start a league up...? And charge nothing at all? Clubs struggle enough with their own maintenance costs let alone having to affiliate to every tom **** and Harry! And what do the get back for these fees? A ton of other fees throughout the season to fill the coffers!!!!
TheolderIgetthebetterIwas Posted April 29, 2014 Report Posted April 29, 2014 Start a league up without administration, rules, fixtures and authority !!!! it'd be chaos inside a month. LOL
pointers Posted April 30, 2014 Report Posted April 30, 2014 Once you've got your entrants by a certain cut off date you just work the fixtures out, and ready to rock and roll!!

John Mead Posted April 30, 2014 Report Posted April 30, 2014 Perhaps you ought to join a League committee somewhere Pointers - you'd then find out how it all really works! Combo fees went up from £35 to £75 three seasons ago; this was to cover most of the increased fees paid to CCFA to administer Referees appointments - a full-time appointments officer has to be paid for and each league has to contribute towards this cost, the amount depending on the number of teams and the level at which they play. There are obviously other ongoing costs such as insurance, telephone, postage, stationery, trophies, medals to name but a few!
pointers Posted April 30, 2014 Report Posted April 30, 2014 I wouldn't like to commit to getting involved on the committee as I haven't really seen a change in personnel in years so would it really be worth it??!!! I think it's more hassle than it's worth just to prove you guys wrong in how easy it would be to run a league!
cornishteddyboy Posted April 30, 2014 Report Posted April 30, 2014 The Combo League is on the lookout for a new Treasurer. Why not put your hand up and volunteer.
TheolderIgetthebetterIwas Posted April 30, 2014 Report Posted April 30, 2014 Ha, ha, of course he/she won't - just trolling again.
pointers Posted April 30, 2014 Report Posted April 30, 2014 Not a great deal of work with that one, just ins and outs, I'd much rather have more of a say with the running of the league, how certain things are decided and try and even things out a little!

If it's so easy start a new league up and see how many teams would jump ship and join your garden of Eden get it up and running , as for a treasurer this is one of the hardest jobs dealing with other peoples money and making sure the books balanced each season , anyone can make statements of how good we are but the proof of the pudding is in the eating , come on pointers back yourself up and put us out of our misery and prove us mere mortals wrong
