cb_fc Posted April 21, 2014 Report Posted April 21, 2014 May 3rd a date that could decide the winner of div 5 if Falmouth town 3rds beat madron they win the league by a minimum of 1 point. Mabe face Camborne athletic on the same day. Interesting day for any neutrals who dont ava game to watch. Will 1 team buckle under the pressure. Falmouth need a win to take the title where as mabe need to win all remaining games and hope madron can get a win from Falmouth.... this has been a close run all season. Getting exciting now.
stokefan1 Posted April 21, 2014 Report Posted April 21, 2014 no disrespect to madron, who i know their manager mark really well top fella and loads top lads their, and also they beat falmouth earlier in season but will falmouth seeming a lot stronger now, and having only needing to win that one game they will have hunger and comfortably beat madron! so will not matter what mabe do in remaining fixtures i don't think but you never know! out of all mabes cannot see them dropping any points, but still promotion and a league cup final not a bad season for mabe
cb_fc Posted April 21, 2014 Author Report Posted April 21, 2014 Scott marks left the madron and to be fair mate football is a funny old game if Falmouth get too cocky could be costly. Nxt weekend will b an interesting 1. Always better wen there's 2 teams that take it to the wire no disrespect to park but u breezed this season without any real challenge thats boring to watch as a neutral this is to the wire battle if Falmouth wins thats it.
Bungle Posted April 23, 2014 Report Posted April 23, 2014 Falmouth certainly not getting cocky. we have enjoyed playing against every team in div 5 and met some good people this season. We always respect our opponents and i think because of that we have had lots of teams wish us well and hoping we win the league. Mabe have been brilliant all season and i dont think anyone expected that result at ludgvan. its been a enjoyable season all round and win lose or draw, having a pint with the opposition at the end has been the best part! We will treat the Madron game as we have every other game and go out to play football and hopefully win. As said above "footballs a funny old game". The falmouth team that lost to madron in the cup is significantly different to the falmouth team sheets for the rest of the season (trelawny website), but i dont expect madron will want to turn up and not put in a shift, so it should be a good game all round. Good luck to all the teams in div 5 in the run in.
cb_fc Posted April 23, 2014 Author Report Posted April 23, 2014 I don't mean to sound disrespectful at all towards Falmouth like u said great bunch and the title race I think has been watched with alot of interest by probably every club in div 5 cos how close it's been all season long and I was wrong with a previous post on here about the winner between mabe and Falmouth boxing day game wud win the league looks like u guys pulled it bk. Massive day for u guys nxt Saturday good luck to Falmouth hopefully u end the season with a good game.
addick1 Posted April 23, 2014 Report Posted April 23, 2014 The Falmouth team that we beat when i was at Madron is totally different to the team they have now.I watched them destroy Newlyn a couple of weeks ago and they have strengthened in all departments.Personally i can't see Madron pulling off another upset but i won't be surprised if they do as they have some great players who have mostly played way below their abilities this season. I think it's Falmouth's league and deservedly so as in my opinion they are the best team in Division 5.Best of luck Bungle and all at Falmouth, top bunch of lads. Mark
Bungle Posted April 23, 2014 Report Posted April 23, 2014 Thank you Addick1, appreciate your kind words. We look forward to playing madron as they are a good bunch of lads. Both times away at madron, we were made to feel very welcome. Infact, after every game in div 5 this season we have enjoyed a pint after the match. Win or Lose, its our last game of the season so hope we can have a bit of sunshine and a good game of football on Bickland Park. You are right about the team that lost to madron before, we, like many teams, will have a squad of 16 one week then a scratch bare 11 another week. One particular game springs to mind away at newquay where we took 11 and scraped a win. We have just been very lucky that we have got some important players back from working away and back from injury at the right time. Also thank you cb_fc for your kind words! Two really good games against you boys! Cant take anything away from mabe, they have been scoring for fun in this league, and im sure will do so in div 4 next season.
cb_fc Posted April 24, 2014 Author Report Posted April 24, 2014 Ohhh ur playing at bickland. Big pitch. U took us apart at dracina on the weekend on the bigger pitch I was glad to be playing at bickland. I agree with mark u have been a great bunch and ur team is alot stronger from when we 1st played although I had afew key players missing Saturday and now with cricket season afew more but to be fair u still would have beaten us. U play football as a team and not solely reliant on 1 or 2 individuals. Im sure u guys will do really well nxt season if u can keep ur team together.
