Div 3 Ruan Minor 4 Chacewater Res. 1 A first league defeat for the season for the reserves against a team who were hungry for the points and deserved the result.

Madron FC Posted April 19, 2014 Report Posted April 19, 2014 Division 3 St Agnes 3-3 Madron. Madron scorer. Fidge 3 We (madron) threw away a 3-0 lead but I will give full credit to St Agnes as they wanted to try and get something out of the game and I believe that they had a goal not given (I was in goal and had my back to it). I made a couple of cracking saves to keep us in the game. Good job by the ref Good luck to St Agnes for the rest of the season. Madron Res 2-1 Trevenson res 2 wins on the bounce for our Reserves. Well done lads
Minns Posted April 19, 2014 Report Posted April 19, 2014 Constantine 3 vs Holmans 4 3-1 ht The game started with Holmans playing up the slope and into the wind, Holmans straight from the off were sloppy in there play and we're unable to judge the bounce off the ball and 5 mins in the returning Neil Pitt misjudged the roll of the ball and was unable to use his snail like speed were all use to seeing to recover allowing the striker to finish by chipping it over nigel hambly in the Holmans goal. 10 minutes later it got worse as a cross was not cleared properly and a game of pinball erupted within the Holmans area and ended up with Jason being in our own penalty area for once tackling.one player to prevent a shot but set up another constantine player to smash it in from 8 yards out to make it 2-0 to home side. Holmans started to try and get themselves back into the game but when a we failed to clear a free kick the ball constantine punished us and scored again making it 3-0 after 25 mins roughly. In all fairness if not but for some poor finishing they could of easily gof another 1 or 2, but around the 40th minute Holmans had started wake up and we're giving a life line when a bit of brilliant play from Adam selley finishing well against the keeper to pull one back and make it 3-1. The Holmans management were dealt a blow right on half time when nigel hambly had to be carried of injured. 3-1 half time. At half time it was decided that the one armed flying potato sack (aka me) would have to take hammers place and guard the sticks. Holmans come straight out the blocks second half and Adam selley turned provider when he lofted the ball over for Jason blight to score making it 3-2. A flurry of chances then come Holmans way and with Adam selley doing his best suarez impression he managed to dribble around 3 players getting to the by line he then squared it across for Colin who failed to connect resulting in the ball being cleared back towards the penalty spot making selley go angry that he failed to finish it, however Holmans didn't have to wait long to find an equaliser after this as Colin turned provider to Jason blight up for a dramatic slow motion diving header to equalise making.it 3-3 with about 20 mins to play. Constantine tried to attack straight away from the kick off and managed to get a shot it but was held by me and from my overhit clearance the constantine keeper misjudged the bounce and was flapping but unfortunately it.bounced inches past the top left corner. Holmans with their tails up knew there was another goal left in this game and that boy Colin managed to find Jason on the edge of the area and he somehow managed to bend one in the top corner grabbing another hat trick this year which also resulted in.Holmans winning the game 4-3 after a week of three defeats. I would like to add that the referee Alan hoon had a brilliant game as always and would like to wish constantine all the best for the rest of the season.
Dan Inch Posted April 19, 2014 Report Posted April 19, 2014 West Cornwall Res 6 - 1 Newlyn Res West played the best football we have played in the first 30 mins but went behind, Ali got us back on track following up a deflected shot from Jowan to tap in. 1 each at half time, second half much the same, West still lacking a cutting edge up front until Robertas waltzed through 5 players and tucked the ball in. A change of formation saw West take the game away from Newlyn, three quick goals, two crackers from Ryan and Dave plus a neat finish from Sam saw the blues claim the points, Sam finished the scoring by glancing in Hodgeys cross to go clear in the top scorer charts. Rest up for a week now before next Sundays cup semi.
peggy78 Posted April 19, 2014 Report Posted April 19, 2014 Trelawny 2 Storm 1 (0) St Buryan Reserves 4 (1) A fairly open game was held at Clijah with chances aplenty at both ends and it was St Buryan who made the most of their chances. Both teams had spells of playing decent football in some tricky conditions (a strong end to end wind, a hard fast high-bouncing surface and the ever-present Clijah bobble). Storm had already seen one chance go begging when Buryan took the lead when a deflected cross saw their striker played onside and end up one on one to slot home. Both sides were then unable to convert with the bobble ensuring Mitchell's shin made full contact with a shot rather than his boot whilst also seeing a smart turn and shot hook wide. We had a chance to level the scores when the keeper came out to try and beat Kellow to the ball, but having missed the ball collided into the player and the ref pointed to the spot. With regular taker, James Chilman, out with injury and Kellow still trying to get some air back inside his body, Captain Sam Charlton stepped up to take the spot kick but was unable to convert as the keeper got down well to his right to save. More of the same in the 2nd half, with Buryan converting 3 more chances and Kellow beating 2 defenders and the keeper to a bouncing ball before slotting home. A plethora of missed chances and wasted opportunities saw the scoreline finish in Buryan's favour. Its another of those games where I feel the scoreline didn't reflect the balance of play and I certainly feel if we had taken one of our first half chances then it could well have been a different story. But we didn't and it wasn't. Didn't feel there was much between the sides, but well played to Buryan, good bunch of lads and will see them next Saturday for the reverse fixture. Well reffed by Paul Roberts and thanks to him and the away side for coming back for food.

Webbz Posted April 20, 2014 Report Posted April 20, 2014 Wendron IV's 1 - Marazion Res 8 On the banana pitch at the Dron made for a good footballing surface and marazion duely ablidged taking 20 minutes to show any real potency in front of goal. Can't really remember the order in which we scored as playing in the holding role I often felt like a spectator behind some truly fantastic keep ball (my opinion was quite often echoed by the ref). Credit where credit is due and the young Wendron side didn't capitulate and start arguing as many teams would they stuck to their task and got their just reward with a break away goal. Game was played in fantastic spirit ruffed really well and was a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon at the underlane! Marazion scorers: Jason O'sullivan 4 Matty Thomas 2 Sanjay Vadgama 1 Craig Rennard 1 Mom : Jason O'sullivan prolific finishing and great movement. D**k of the day: hard one as the only smudge on the game was conceding. So Adam Caul can take this ashe should of cleared the danger
