Martin Eddy Posted April 16, 2014 Report Posted April 16, 2014 Camborne Town 1- 3 Ludgvan res. cup semi. good game of football best team won but town played very well and if the header onto the crossbar had gone in at 2-1 may have been a different game.

I agree martin and thought both sides played some lovely stuff and the officials done very well in a very entertaining game.

bluenose Posted April 18, 2014 Report Posted April 18, 2014 Div 4 Marazion Res 7-0 Wendron 4th? We dominated this game from the off but only had a 2-0 lead at half time. Played good football in patches and probably should have been more. Wendron are a young team but have tidy players and will no doubt improve with age. Craig Rennard opened the scoring, turning his marker in the box and sliding it past the keeper, after good work down the left hand side. The second was slightly fortunate. After a corner was cleared, Matty Thomas was waiting on the edge of the box to volley it back in. The ball was going a few feet wide until it hit the back of an unlucky Wendron defender and flew into the net. 2-0 at half time. Although the players were pleased with the first half, the management team weren't and told us to push further forward. In truth had we been more composed in front of goal it could have been 5 or 6 at half time. It wasn't long until we scored the third. After good build up play on the left Sanjay Vadgama sent in a pin point cross which found the head of Craig who had out jumped his marker at the far post. His header beat the keeper but not the cross bar but as it bounced back into the six yard box, this 40 year old left back found himself the furthest player forward and showed the strikers how it's done to head in past the defender on the line. This sparked us into life and Jason O'Sullivan banged in a brace. The first he outpaced his marker to calmly slot past the keeper and the second, after another great cross from Sanjay, Craig failed to control the ball but thankfully it fell to Jason who rifled it into the roof of the net. The game started to get a bit disjointed as we brought on subs and people playing out of position. Then a moment of madness. A penalty was awarded to Wendron after Jamie Wilkes body slammed a Wendron player, not once but twice, right in front of the ref. Unfortunatley for Wendron their skipper placed it wide. Craig Rennard grabbed two late goals to complete his hat-trick and end the scoring although I didn't see these as I was enjoying a nice hot shower!!! Comfortable win in the end against a young, keen Wendron side. The game was well reffed although neither side gave him anything to deal with. Pitch was immaculate as always. Wendron again on Saturday so hopefully we will put in a similar performance as we go for promotion.
