Big Ern Posted April 12, 2014 Report Posted April 12, 2014 Lamerton 3-2 Biscovey Lamerton against the run of play in ther early stages of the game went a goal up after excellent work from Alex Mayne down the left side of the park, cut inside and fired his shot across the goal into the far corner. Steve Lake was unlucky after not to give a 2-0 lead as his header hit the post. Biscovey then made it 1-1 after Lamerton lost possession and Biscovey came down the left and the ball was squared on the edge of the box for their player to tuck it in the back of the net unchallenged. With this Lamie dropped their heads and looked sluggish until the break. Second half again took alittle time to get going but it was Biscovey that took the lead after a free kick was swung in from the right and a free header for the centre forward made it 2-1. With this Lamerton lost a bit of belief in this relegation battle and heads started to drop all over the park, however Chis Wearing popped up and with the help of both posts put the ball in the net. 2-2 and game on... Lamerton threw everything they had forward to try and get the three points out of the game. Biscovey nearly regained the lead when the Biscovey forward was through behind the back 4 and when keeper Pete Daniel came to challenge for the ball outside the box it pinged around off the player and goalkeeper and went marginally past the post. This was the bit of luck Lamie needed of late and with 2 minutes to go Alex Mayne popped up again with the goods after exceptional work from Jimmer Steer to seal a much needed three points for Lammie to keep hopes alive of staying in the Premier Division. Although I do feel for Biscovey, I was so proud of the lads after the game, with the scratch team we had they worked hard and got the result they gave me 100% and I cant ask any more of them and for that I thank them.
Tony R Posted April 12, 2014 Report Posted April 12, 2014 Pelynt 0-2 Pensilva - Scorers - Sam Rogers (86) & Martyn Putt (90) Pelynt were by far the better side in the 1st half and should of been in front at the interval but with Dylan Peel making a superb block on the line and keeper Richard Rendle making a great save to keep the scores level. Pensilva changed their formation in the second half which seem to work as they got a lot more possession and got two late goals for the 3 points.
Dave Deacon Posted April 12, 2014 Report Posted April 12, 2014 Gorran's pitch surely has to be one of the smallest in the league. Little distance from the touchline into the penalty area!
Rjw87 Posted April 12, 2014 Report Posted April 12, 2014 St merryn 1 Southgate Seniors 0. St merryn crowned division 5 champions!
Grampound's Playmaker Posted April 12, 2014 Report Posted April 12, 2014 Grampound Res 3 - 2 Tintagel The scoreline was 0-0 at half time largely thanks to Ryan Henderson in Grampound's goal who made 3 or 4 good saves. Tintagel took the lead near the start of the 2nd half when Adam Price headed in a well taken freekick. Price then doubled the lead shortly after this when a number of Grampound players switched off. Bruce Campbell pulled a goal back for the home side on the hour mark when his freekick deceived Tintagel's keeper and finished in the back of the net. Shane Weeks levelled the match when Steve Moorcroft flicked on a long Henderson goalkick, to send Weeks clear and finish neatly. With only 5 mins remaining Grampound grabbed all 3 points when Weeks' shot was saved and Jules Woodman reacted first to knock the ball home from close range.

Scandalous decisions by the referee allowed Pensilva a win they didn't deserve. Shocking
phoenix Posted April 12, 2014 Report Posted April 12, 2014 LC Phoenix 4 Holywell and Cubert 0 Launceston College Phoenix cruised past a weakened Holywell side by playing some decent football for most the game. Josh Barron scored a sumptuous goal on the counter-attack after Ryan Julian picked the ball up in the Phoenix half, evaded a tackle and fed Barron a decent defence splitting ball. Julian then converted neatly from a Luke Williams cross to put the alumni team two goals up. Phoenix dominated the second half with some superb flashes of quality from several players. Jake Collings finished an eye- catching Phoenix move with a drilled shot from inside the box and an own goal after some serious pressure rounded off the tally. Holywell deserve credit though for their resilience and effort; undoubtedly the return fixture is going to be far more challenging for Phoenix when several of their players are available. The White Hart Hotel man of the match Award: Rob Hicks- a controlling presence in the Phoenix midfield.

That said, from the way most of you behaved yesterday you are clearly not fair-minded or reasonable. As it happens I hope you go up to the ECPL as that way we won't have to put up with you next season
