willser08 Posted April 8, 2014 Report Posted April 8, 2014 Following Saturdays debacle against frogpool it was good to see some heart determination and effort on show from redruth this evening. With a patched up side redruth set about restoring some pride but it was storm who were quicker out of the blocks and forced stand in keeper Greg Wills into a couple of early saves. Storm then had the best chance as I made a hash of a simple pick up from an over hit through ball to gift posession to the storm winger who crossed perfectly for chilman to miss a sitter from 6 yards out with an open goal. After this chances were created at both ends with a combination of poor finishing good goalkeeping and a goal line clearance from matt Mitchell (it was his fault they were through anyway) meaning that half time the score was goal less. The second half started as the first did with storm on the front foot, they were eventually in front when the ball found its way to the tricky left winger who cut inside and found the far corner. Storms second came from an inswinging matt doble corner when luke vds evaded his marker and nipped in in front of me to nod in at the near post. Redruth then regrouped and there was no capitulation like saturday as the team showed some resolve and determination to dig in and find a foothold. Storm did break through again with their left winger scoring his second which I got a hand to but couldn't keep out. On a different day it could have gone a different way but credit to storm who kept coming and were good value for the win. From our point of view it was important to put up a better show than saturday which I think we did. A good team effort from the lads tonight and gives us some positives to work on going into saturdays game. Good luck Storm for the rest of the season
