Trelawney Premier

Mawnan 3, Threemilestone 2.

Both stones goals scored by Ryan Stephens.

2nd defeat in 3 days for tms and also 2nd league defeat of the season.

Not the best game by either side, alot of huffing and puffing in midfield but not much quality in the final third. mawnan made the most of their chances and worked their socks off to be solid enough at the back to earn the victory.

Well reffereed by the big man.

Att 16.

Other Prem results from the full time site.

Holman sc 6, St Day 2.

Helston 7, Gwinear 1.

Redruth Utd Reserves 0 (0) Storm 3 (0)

Storm Scorers - Mitchell (2), Vandersluys

An open 1st half could have finished 6-6 with Redruth Utd probably shading the number of chances but Storm having the more clear cut ones. We took some time to find our feet after injuries and absence disrupted the team from the weekends game whilst Redruth showed good energy levels and the lad (Morow?) in the middle was at the heart of most things good for United. Despite the decent weather, the poor Clijah playing surface made it difficult for both teams to string any passes together, whilst the young bald lad at the back (Something LeWarne?!) marshalled the defence with authority and calmness.

Redruth manages to miss a few attempts as their players ran through the defence whilst Greg Wills in the Utd goal proved a formidable opponent, thwarting a couple of guilt edged chances, whilst some wayward finishing also left the half time scoreline goalless.

In the second half we stiffened up as a team and Redruth chances became fewer as we started to look more threatening, but still unable to find a way past Wills. The breakthrough finally came from a Mitchell run and shot and a second was added a few minutes later when Vandersluys scored his first goal for the firsts, heading home from a Doble corner. As Redruth pushed forward in search of goals, we were able to exploit the space at the back. There were a few more chances to extend the lead which went unconverted due to some efforts just wide, some staunch defending and the ever imposing Clijah bobble.

A third was added late on, as Mitchell grabbed his 2nd of the game as we hit Utd on the break. The game was played in good spirits and didn't really have the feel of a local derby. Well reffed by Alan Pearce who was consistent with his decision making and explained himself well.
