THE BALD ONE Posted April 3, 2014 Report Posted April 3, 2014 Could Saltash be the dark horses. They have had a run of very good results.
Crusty Posted April 3, 2014 Report Posted April 3, 2014 Looking at the fixtures I think it will be too much for them. They have 4 games in 7 days. Really good result for the other teams around the top tho
THE BALD ONE Posted April 3, 2014 Report Posted April 3, 2014 I think they will have a say in who does win though.
Gripper Stebson Posted April 3, 2014 Report Posted April 3, 2014 If Exmouth are serious about stepping up what position do they need to finish in ? Looks like teams could be gifting Parkway the title and I agree the ashes certainly look like dark horses coming up the outside rail.

Looks like teams could be gifting Parkway the title and I agree the ashes certainly look like dark horses coming up the outside rail. I believe it's a finish in the top two . Parkway v Saltash on the 9th May could be very interesting .
Mike Odgers Posted April 3, 2014 Report Posted April 3, 2014 Who has got the toughest run in?I see Bodmin's last 7 games to be played in 15 days
rocky170267 Posted April 3, 2014 Report Posted April 3, 2014 Who has got the toughest run in? I see Bodmin's last 7 games to be played in 15 days that is just crazy !! Com'on SWPL. Sort it out !!
The Villains Posted April 3, 2014 Report Posted April 3, 2014 Who has got the toughest run in? I see Bodmin's last 7 games to be played in 15 days that is just crazy !! Com'on SWPL. Sort it out !! There are a lot of teams playing a crazy number of games over a short period of time.
The Villains Posted April 4, 2014 Report Posted April 4, 2014 Calm before the storm..... As from next week at least 2 games a week until the end of the season. More midweek games maybe need to be played at the start of the season.
secretscout Posted April 4, 2014 Report Posted April 4, 2014 Why not stop playing midweek games the first two months and the last two months, instead, do midweek games throughout the season?
The Villains Posted April 4, 2014 Report Posted April 4, 2014 Why not stop playing midweek games the first two months and the last two months, instead, do midweek games throughout the season? Gotta bite here, but, when do you think most games are cancelled, the first 2 and last 2 months of the season or the winter period?
secretscout Posted April 4, 2014 Report Posted April 4, 2014 granted it is the winter months, however, there are weeks throughout the winter/non midweek period where the weather would allow games to be playable, so we lose a number of playable mid weeks during the "non mid wek" period.
Martin McHugh Posted April 4, 2014 Report Posted April 4, 2014 Thankless task organising fixtures even when the weather is good, it would be interesting to know how many fixtures have had to be re-scheduled this season and which clubs have had most games called off. I would much rather sit down with a Mills and Boon romantic novel than have to re-arrange fixtures. Big respect to the fixtures secretarys in all leagues. MQx
secretscout Posted April 4, 2014 Report Posted April 4, 2014 Absolutely MQ.....they do a sterling job!
shots Posted April 4, 2014 Report Posted April 4, 2014 Hi GS, a club has to finish in the top 3 this season to apply for promotion. I understand this is to prevent the pyramid from being log-jammed by those who don't want promotion, but finish high enough. Shots
Argyle Fan Posted April 4, 2014 Report Posted April 4, 2014 Who has got the toughest run in?I see Bodmin's last 7 games to be played in 15 daysthat is just crazy !! Com'on SWPL. Sort it out !!Bit harsh to blame the League for the bad weather!!And looking at Bodmin particularly, they've done well in both the Throgmorton Cup and the Cornwall Senior Cup, not forgetting the Vase, which means additional games to fit into the schedule. This midweek just gone was originally scheduled to stage both Throgmorton Cup semi-finals. I understand that the fixture secretary was asked not to schedule lots of games alongside them. And it was unfortunate that last Saturday's Bodmin home game fell foul of the proverbial waterlogged pitch.I suppose in an ideal world and with the use of a crystal ball it would be possible to arrange a perfect fixture list to include bad weather, cup ties etc but in the real world it ain't gonna happen.
