chickennugget Posted April 3, 2014 Report Posted April 3, 2014 RNAS Culdrose 3 (Wildman, McBride, Greig) Porthleven 2 Despite missing three starting midfielders the Airmen started well and took an earlylead when Jamie McBride smashed home inside the box. After a through ball which the old bloke playing centre-half for Porthleven should have dealed with. He let Ben Wildman catch him up after a 10 yard head start then fell over himself trying to take the Culdrose striker out leaving Wildman to convert easily. It should have been 3 when the old bloke kindly kneed it into the direction of Wildman leaving him one on one only for him to do a 'Danny Welbeck' and fail to lob the goalkeeper. Porthleven pulled one back before half time when Johnny Greig poked the ball past his own goalkeeper for the Porthleven front man to finish off. After half time Culdrose seemed to get dragged down to Porthleven's poor standard and Porthleven equalised when given a penalty. In my opinion if their strike wants to lay on top of our goalkeeper then he has every right to push him off. However I am not a qualified referee like the pre-pubescent who was in charge of this game and he pointed to the spot. Porhtleven converted the penalty well. After this the visitors seemed determined to hold onto a draw and employed various time wasting tactics as Culdrose bombarded their area. The Porthleven goalkeeper pulled off some decent saves and the defenders made some decent last gasp challenges (even the old bloke). The old bloke then started being mean calling us Navy Queens forgetting that quite a few of his own teammates were also in the Navy. Jamie McBride then hit the post in the dying minutes before Culdrose won a dangerous free-kick. Before the kick could be taken the old bloke decided he wanted to pick a fight with Baz Williamson (there's other lads I'd rather fight to be honest). John Clarke got his head on the ball but the keeper made a great save which rebounded to Johnny Greig smashing him in the face and ending up in the net. 3-2 COME ON YOU NAVY QUEENS!!!!
