Ian Pethick Posted March 29, 2014 Report Posted March 29, 2014 I'm putting together the programme for Parkway's game against Godolphin on Tuesday night , and in the profile section I am going to write that visiting manager Derek Martin is the longest serving current manager in the Peninsula League . Am I correct in saying this ?
green&whitebarmyarmy Posted March 29, 2014 Report Posted March 29, 2014 Reg Hambly at Camelford must be close. Been at the club for over 20 years
100%cornish Posted March 29, 2014 Report Posted March 29, 2014 its got to be Bodmins manager he seems to of been there forever
NORTH DEVON DWELLER Posted March 29, 2014 Report Posted March 29, 2014 Can't be Darren Gilbert if Reg Hambly has always been Camelford manager because Alan Carey was Bodmin manager when the SWPL began.
green&whitebarmyarmy Posted March 29, 2014 Report Posted March 29, 2014 Think Reg has been at Camelford 23 years being more specific. Can't see anyone being in a job longer than that in today's climate.
Dave Deacon Posted March 29, 2014 Report Posted March 29, 2014 Gilby took over from Alan Carey towards the beginning of the 2007/08 season. It surely has to be Reg at Camelford. Are there any in the East though that should be considered?
Dave Deacon Posted March 29, 2014 Report Posted March 29, 2014 If you're looking just at since the beginning of the Peninsula League formation - there's Stuart Cann (Okehampton Argyle) and Dave Evans (University of Exeter) to add to the list
Taniachairmangodolphin Posted March 29, 2014 Report Posted March 29, 2014 Derek has been manager at Godolphin since 2002
Dave Deacon Posted March 29, 2014 Report Posted March 29, 2014 Reg has confirmed he's been No 1 at Camelford since - 1991/92, now in his 23rd season!
kevin richards Posted March 29, 2014 Report Posted March 29, 2014 Fantastic achievement & a fantastic man !
