Harry_Breasbats
There isn't any sour grapes as they deserved on the day to go through.
le boss
I have heard from a credible source the lizard will be going through to the next round, sour grapes from helston!!! Think you will find it is official - Helston have been re-instated. Just how credible is that source??
Jenko14
Surely if a player is ineligible then that's that?
bluestorm
I dont know what the decision by the CCFA to the complaint by Helston will be, but like Chris has said Lizard deserved to win on the day. The young lad in question only came on for the last 15 mins and was no ringer.
le boss
Good enough to sit on the bench for Port first team but then again.....
Harry_Breasbats
All Helston can do now is go and win it for the Club and the Lizard lads who no doubt will feel aggrieved as they were the better team.
SY WINNAN
Lizard out helston in apparently.. I'm sure Helston will have a great chance to win the cup so long as Mr Breasley stays injured they will be fine.xxxx
Phil
Seems a bit farcical if helston have put in a complaint against a player who may have been on the bench in a senior cup team but did not play? Very tough on the lizard guys, especially as has been said they were the best side on the day. Surely to have played in the senior cup you would of have to have stepped on the pitch! Mangle
So you don't actually have to even play, only named as a sub, to disqualify you from other competitions? Harsh, to say the least.
Phil
Thats what I read on the deleted thread Mangle. Maybe there's more to it than that? But like you say, harsh. St b to be in the final for me.
BAGMAN
Perhaps he did actually step on the pitch? I'm sure the CCFA will have got their ducks in a row before taking this decision? Discuss!
Guest BenTheYeti
Slightly different, but we named a player on the bench in the Junior Cup who hadn't played a league game, and as far as the club is aware, were fined for him actually taking to the field. Phil
Maybe bagman, we'll not no for sure until someone from Lizard Argyle comes on here and gives us the answer. But if a senior player has played in both competitions and had not told the lizard management team I lay most of the blame with him. A secretaries job is hard enough as it is. le boss
No matter how harsh the rules seem - they are what they are - rules. All to see at the beginning of the season and for ALL to stick to. No sympathy really. Clubs don't make the rules so so think you can blame Helston for complaining - don't think there is a club in the county that would not have done the same,so please come out of your ivory towers
Jenko14
Exactly. Had the boot been on the other foot, Helston would have been torn a new one on here. Rules are rules. Fairly simple.
dobbie
As secretary of helston I have kept quiet on this matter...but am going to defend my club. On initial enquiry to the ccfa I was told yes the player in question did play in the senior cup. Therefore we put in an official complaint as the rules were breeched not because of dour grapes or any other matter. Love them or hate them they are the rules. As le boss said any club would of done the same and indeed our third team have been docked points in the league because we unknowingly breeched the rules. ..and rightly so too...no complaints for us. I also know Lizard have put in a counter complaint agsinst two of our players who played on Saturday who I might add were eligible to play. ..so yeah any club would do the same. I hope this now puts an end to this matter. Good luck to lizard for rest of season. ..a strong side who I hope manag to gain promotion
Phil
No offence intended towards Helston from me dobbie, the original post put on here implied that the player concerned was an unplayed sub in one of the games. Thats why I thought it was farcical. Are you saying It's official that Helston are through then?

Harry_Breasbats
Seems they knocked themselves out of the Cup!
