bighairydave
Cornwall Football Association have taken a firm stance against those who choose to place offensive comments on a public forum and it is hoped this will send a clear message to anyone associated with football in Cornwall that such unpleasant comments placed on media sites will not be tolerated. Four individuals have each been suspended from any involvement in all football for two qualifying matches. The players, who the Cornwall FA have declined to name individually but stated all play for St Day FC, had been involved in writing a series of offensive posts on a public forum. "The subject of the posts were insulting towards other players and clubs, using extremely offensive terms said Phil Bunt, CCFA Discipline Panel Member. Three of those charged by Cornwall FA in association with the offence of E3 Improper Conduct pleaded guilty by post and the fourth failed to respond and the case was heard without any explanation from him. All four were suspended from taking part in any football activity for a period of two qualifying matches and fined £25 each. Their suspensions will run from 6th January 2014. "We are determined to see this type of activity stamped out across the county," said Mr Bunt, "and we think that these bans should go a long way to emphasising how seriously we take such matters." Also believe those suspended were not for comments on this forum but on Facebook!!!

Referee
99% of FB users and 99% of the guys on this Forum do so without being offensive and insulting. it is actualy unlawful to say, type, print, broadcast, text etc any offensive or insulting remarks about any individual or organisation in any form of media. although people like to make themselves very opinionated about the aspects of their previous day's match, nearly all of them manage to edit out the expletives and spiteful bits before they press the 'post' button. CCFA have a legal obligation to get involved if those who have been offended make their complaint formal so please keep it clean or we will lose the Forums that we enjoy using so much. Happy New Year to all, big shame we had no footie last week to talk about !!

Minns
I hope the ccfa will also be looking at referees pages!!! I have tonight seen a Facebook page that could be interpreted that an official will be holding a grudge about a player... But I guess nothing will happen to this official... Oh and before any says anything I have reported it.

Midlandsman
This could be very dodgy ground by the Cornish FA suspending people on public forums/facebook/twitter etc, as we all know that people use other peoples names, bogus names etc..The Cornish FA must proved beyond any doubt it is the said person before they can just dish out bans..I do think it is a positive move by them but it is worrying they may get a lot of cases wrong. Having said about forums this is possibly one the best in the UK I belong to, yes there is the odd bit of bantering but the Admins do nip tings in the bud quite quickly and keep on top of things before things become too much, of course the odd thing gets through

Ben, ALL referees where reminded of their responsibilities at the start of the season as well as being reminded at various events that have happened during this season.
