Sponge
Who is the lowest ranked side to ever win a Senior Cup? Has a combo side ever won it?
Mike Odgers
The 1997 Final saw Nanpean Rovers of the ECPL, lose 1-2 in a replay against Falmouth TownIn fact they should have won it as in the first game they rounded the Falmouth keeper only to hit the upright late in the game. You're correct, I watched that game .... Nanpean should have won it. Almost the last kick if I remember correctly.

Cola
soloman was unstoppable that season. the nanpean side of 1997 had gary penhaligon in goal if I stand correct, I was playing for padstow at the time and they beat us 4-3 with gary penhaligon saving two penalties, think they went on to win the ecpl league that year too. Andy Wright
I can still see Solomon hit the post now. Nanpean had one helluva team for ECPL. Gary Penhaligon was virtuałly unbeatable. Me old mate Lee Cansfield got the winner in the replay.
Richard Rundle
How did Lee Cansfield stay onside long enough to score a goal that counted???? When i first started watching Bideford regularly he was working up a fine striking partnership with John Durham, but unfortnately for every one Lee scored he wasted two or three changes by being offside
Andy Wright
I believe he scored 40+ for Bideford that season. Lee was never offside....according to him. Most naturally two-footed player that i've played with.
Naholliday
You were and are a decent two footed player wrighty. Although, that would mean that you would have to admit to playing with yourself!!

Tommy Matthews
One of the best Saltash (Western league) 0-1 Penzance, don't you love it Tommy (Matthews), I think Dave Wadd talked us throuh it! complete with breakfast, lunch and a 2 hour team talk, but what a day Yep I'll never forget that one Al, no one gave us a chance until Eno Udo popped up and scored. On the day we deserved our win and the medal is still in a box in the loft! Merry Christmas mate!
