marrabean
We at Wendron have just discovered that Ruan Minor have been granted permission to postpone there fixture against us this weekend as they cannot raise a side. This is surely there own fault so why must we be punished with a congested fixture programme towards the end of season, I am also lead to believe they have used the excuse of having numerous serviceman away on leave this weekend, may I suggest if this is the case then they should find serviceman dedicated to there side and local football (I can say this as a serviceman myself). I know that Culdrose's two sides have mitigation to not play during leave periods and I understand that as they declare themselves at a service side playing Cornwall FA football. I feel this leaves everyone with the option to cancel games as they feel fit i.e. member of team getting married then lets go on a stag do to Prague and cancel our game this weekend. The football season is fixtured impartially by the league so should be played as so, we will miss enough games due to weather and referee shortages. I think this is a great shame and a very sad state of affairs! People are bound to say I am only kicking off because our side wants to play a weakened Ruan Minor, this is not the truth, I just want to play football! TheolderIgetthebetterIwas
Football is not the be all and end all for many anymore. Plus - the season is stupidly long.
cb_fc
I agree with marrabean fixtures should be played brings back the old topic of CSoM and their fixtures. This is Saturday league football after all.
St Darren
It's still local junior football which is designed to increase participation in the sport and provide a facility for the local community. As older says, there are more important things than football.
marrabean
Well st Darren we don't think we can get a competive side to play them till June 2015 so we will just let it go till then! I joke in the changing rooms that we are playing trelawny 23 but it's still meant to be structured football!
Willser !
I feel this leaves everyone with the option to cancel games as they feel fit i.e. member of team getting married then lets go on a stag do to Prague and cancel our game this weekend. As far as I am aware, you can contact the league to postpone games for weddings and stag dos! Albeit with notice.
peggy78
I was led to believe that teams could only do this 7 days or more in advance this year otherwise you concede the game. I take it this was done last week and you've only just found out?

Azzurri
Wendron are lucky ruan minor postponed the game. Wendron will lose! Ruan minor till i die!! It's not about who will win or lose, it's the fact that the game was postponed as you would not be able to raise a team as your guys from Culdrose are on leave. However it's only five players who are not available and yet you have 23 registered players, plenty enough to fullfill a fixture I would say. Wildee
This has happened many times already this year and I would question whether Ruan could not raise a side or maybe could not raise a strong side? All teams will want to cancel a game for various reasons and these will occur with plenty on notice, weddings, etc. however the new rulings were put in place this year to fine teams and deduct points if unable to raise a side. if the league are then just going to re-fixture the games then what was the point? In the good old days, you had a game every saturday, give or take. Now it seems rare for any teams to have a month full of games? The league started early this year aiming to overcome any problems with waterlogged pitches like last year. However, with weekends free, the games in credit have already been lost!
