As Porthleven didn't have a game, I went to St Blazey where I witnessed a fantastic game. Helston very unlucky not to come away with the win. The four Truro 'trialists' Swain, Young, Goldsworthy and Coomes certainly played there part in the game where Blazey came off 3-2 winners.

Helston could have been 3-0 up within the first 20 minutes apart from some poor finishing, Helston did go 1-0 up thought when a fine ball from former St Blazey Full Back Chris Strike set up Goldsworthy to make set the goals going only for this to be cancelled out 15 minutes later by a brilliant run from Swain who appeared to have fouled Young on the half way line but carried on to beat 3 Helston players and tap in at the near post.

Blazey came out the better team second half and made it 2-1 with a superb solo effort from the winger, a goal was then added in the next ten minutes when An error at the back allowed the Left winger for Blazey in once again.

From then on it was an uphill battle from Helston, if Coomes had his shooting boots on he may have left Helston chasing a few more goals, no good having a striker who can't finish though?

Mathew Fox then led the charge for Helston with a fine shot into the roof of the net, unfortunately it was too little too late though as Helston were 3-2 losers on the day.

Great game to watch and good to see the Helston boys at the club until 7:00, clearly enjoy each others company. Well done to the referee, best I've seen this season so far

Thanks for the report. Decided to watch Argyle today and havnt seen any other reports in the game. Good win for St Blazey against a side who have had a good team in recent seasons. These cup competitions are what St Blazey need to keep their season alive.

Helston 3 up within the first 20 minutes? From what i witnessed it was wave after wave of attack in the first 15-20 minutes from st blazey resulting in about 6 attempts on goal. Dont remember helston having any chances until their goal which came from a long cross field pass over the top with a neat finish.

Helston very unlucky not to come away with the win? St blazey going 1 nil down and then leading 3-1 with plenty of missed chances could make for a different opinion.

Swain and Coombes signed for truro. Young and Goldsworthy were trialists.

The striker got st blazeys second not the winger.

Error at the back? Or good link up play between Coombes and Swain leading to Swain playing a clever ball inbetween the centre half and full back for the winger to run onto and finish with the outside of his foot.

Not many clear cut chances for Coombes but could have made more of the chances that he did have. Cant fault his link and hold up play though, good on the ball and found some clever passes creating good opportunities. The helston players seemed to struggle with his presence.

Dont think the managers and players from both teams would agree with you about the referee.

Hi gents, Tommy and myself did the last draw with the help of radio cornwall sports presenter Ross Ellis. It was all organised by Mr David Bray of the Cornwall FA, and I for one can assure you that he is keen to promote the FA and move it forward into more modern times as much as possible. The draw was made a week or two after the 1st Round so I'm sure David will have something similar lined up for the 3rd Round draw!? I must admit I was impressed with the numbered balls and velvet bag!! (No jokes please!!) I think the fact that a few ties had to be rearranged due to some of our teams in the FA Vase has possibly also been a factor. All the best gents.

Decent win that for Blazey. Glad to see them progress and as Paul said, they need these competitions to keep them bubbling along. Such a big club like Blazey in cornwall should be further up the league and competing for titles.

Heard Coombes didn't properly sign for them by the way, just an extended period of games.

Launceston 2 - Falmouth Town 1

For the first 15 minutes, had you not known you would never have guessed that Falmouth are second from bottom of the league. Just shows that they can still play a bit. Then the Clarets woke up and played the way they do. That said, credit to Falmouth they fought for everything and Launceston had no easy ride. The score could have been higher had Launceston taken all their chances and the Falmouth keeper not been on his toes. The better team won on the day, but surely Falmouth must climb the table. As for Launceston - come on you Clarets, holding on to your top spot won't be easy with those closest to you having games in hand - but you can do it, you play great football. You're worth every penny of the entry fee ! :yahoo

Can someone confirm the goalscoer for Falmouth ?

Andy Westgarth or Rob Wearne

The season before last, I wrote to the Cornwall FA concerning the secrecy of the draws for the senior cup. Naturally they denied any secrecy - but last season they made the draws on radio cornwall - what a coincidence !

So are we actually suggesting Big Al that the CCFA use to fiddle the draw? Strong words being used there...... Could get yourself in trouble if your not careful!!

:Santa: The draw 'live' on Radio Cornwall - Saturday at 5.30pm.

Two more 'legends' in the studio.

Could well be doing the Charity Cup draw also.

Listen in to find out. :Santa:
