isaac rosenberg
Well done on your Combo result, nemesis. If Steve played, St Just were presumably a bit short. This has always been a problem in St Just, as all our tallest brained themselves in the past down Geevor on the low adit roofs and so were not able to reproduce anybody very effective. As a six-footer from St Just I am evidence.

stevieb
goonhavern2-3 hayle 3-1 at half time very even game for twenty odd mins and then we had three quick goals goons keper made a cracking save one on one and then he let one squirm through his hands after taking a deflection form young clarkes shot [ think first name ben ] then young ewan harris picked up a second after a scramble in the goalmouth goonhavern pulled one back with a good effort and then matty thomas made it three with a fine solo run and shot , looked at half time that we would press on and get more goals in the second half but the goons had other ideas from the kick off they were pressing and within a couple of mins another goalkeeping masterclass the ball was dropped and was fired into the net our keeper claimed he was fouled but the ref or myself could see nothing wrong with the challenge so the goal stood , the goons brought on a young winger and with his first touch he hit the post he was causing problems with his pace but after a couple of subs and jigging the defence he was kept quite after that , the goons had plenty of the ball in the second half and we did sit back and let them come at us but all credit to them they kept pushing. as the game wore on we had a couple of breakaways and a goal disallowed for offside , liam had one good chance as the keeper lauched out of the box and liam skipped by him but hesitated to much and the chance went begging , not a great advert for combo football today but we are glad about the points. would like to thank goonhavern for the way they conduct themselves and made us very welcolm at their club good reff today lots of common sense used , pluses for both teams lots of young players on show as both clubs have lost senior players this season and are trying to rebuild . Keiron Harris was my stand out player for Hayle today as he hardly put a foot wrong and won lots of headers against his opponent , great to see Ben Hocking have a run out after his Beckham style injury [ bloody slippers the youngsters call boots] but the team are not very vocal which hopefully will come with experience , Craig Wilcox came on and done well and he will have done his changes of making the starting line up a lot of good , down side young George struggling with an injury but hopefully this is only minor as when he is fit he is vital to the team. Nemesis
Was your first team game at Godolphin played, Nemesis ? Hello my old friend, yes the 'SWPL' side which now includes half of last seasons Combo side, lost out 0-5 to the neighbours. Never mind, the Silver Tinners of Mount Wise will rise again... one sunny day. Local history books show there was a Silver Mine on Mount Wise in the 1800's, we are trying to dig up parts of Mayfield to see if we can fund Paolo de Canio as our next manager. The Combo side faced an 'elderly' St Just team, something about a feast or piss up way down west, keeping several players away. Medical reports state that Newquay have no broken bones, which is always a bonus when facing the Tinners. I and many others dashed back to catch the last 20mins, Newquays youngsters did seem to have the legs on your boys, your 'keeper got himself sent off after a low flying two footed challenge, a traditional "I won the ball Ref" appeal was waved away, as was the red card. Some Refs give them, others don't, but it was near enough the last minute and the Pen was converted to make it 3-1. All the best from the Red & White Tinners. isaac rosenberg
Well done, the Newquay Loyal....and thank you for my flag ! So much to celebrate, being in the Valhalla that is St Just, that it's nothing new for our lot to be too kaylied on the Ale of the Gods to travel...... Two weeks ago it was a wedding, by now, probably a divorce..... In the old days, when you got drunk you could invade Sennen. Now that's all holiday lets there's nothing to do in the fog but beat yourself up..... Which keeper were we playing, Andrew Curnow or Liam Wallis ?
