Rowett Insurance League Cup - Round 3 Draw

With a lot of the Round 2 ties being played this weekend (7th December 2013)........when will we find out who plays who in the next round?

The draw for the whole cup was done at the AGM.

Ridiculous really, because if you're first out of the hat you play every tie at home and if you're last out of hat you play every tie away, up until the semis.

I'm afraid you are wrong Andy. The first two rounds were drawn but the next round will more than likely be drawn in the new year.

Millbrook v Bodmin Town 7th December

Torpoint Athletic v Wadebridge Town 21st December

Mevagissey v Tavistock 7th December

Hello. THE DRAW HAS NOT BEEN MADE YET. Period. No rule change. The agreement was for the first two rounds to be drawn.

Hello. I take it you were not at the AGM then? The draw was made from top to bottom in a knockout format and everyone was told that would be the fixtures up to the final, no other draw was required

Well I was there and as far as I know there was no statement to the effect that the draw covered rounds 1 and 2 only.

Having regard to the paperwork that everybody received and the fact that this covered the Divisional Cups too, it was clear that the draws covered every round.

Anybody else at the AGM hear anything different?

I was there and specifically asked at the end if that was the complete draw for every round and was told that it was. Maybe ECPL needs to either get his facts right or attend these meetings before making such statements

If Offside and myself are correct, the Q/F draw is:

Parkway/Probus or Bere Alston v Millbrook or Bodmin

Torpoint or Wadebridge v Mevagissey or Tavistock

Camelford v Edgcumbe or Borough

League Management Committee Decision. (See League Cup rules for jurisdiction).

The draw for the 3^rd. Round of the three cup competitions. Rowett Insurance League Knock-0ut Cup. The Fred Binks Premier Division Cup & the Roy Radford Division 1 cup. Will be drawn at a Clubhouse of one of the Clubs still in the League knock-out Cup early in the New Year. It was felt that the draw made at the AGM gave an unfair home advantage to those Clubs drawn out first.

NO joke, common sense. It is for the management committee to decide and they have done so. Quite correctly. I don't think there will be anyone against it. If so they will be ones who were pulled out of the hat first .

Rules are rules. Whether they make sense or not you can't just change them half way through. It's a joke. After round 1 you may possibly have got away with it, but you've decided to do it after 2 rounds with your reasons as you're basically admitting that you stitched up the teams that had to play away in the 2nd round. Maybe you could change the rules again after round 3 maybe?

As a neutral observer of this thread, I have to agree with offside. Rules for any competition should be in place before it starts and the MC should be asked to rule only on any exceptional events that occur during it.

Why do you think you have a management committee. It is there to seek fair play. And I would suggest that this was an exceptional event. I really don't see the problem..

I don't know what the rule is but us (Roche) we're at home to elburton villa in the first round and in the second round we are away to callington so to say who is out the hat first will get a home draw in the second round is wrong not unless it just us lol

Every round was drawn at the AGM and it was said that would be for the whole competition. You just said in an earlier post the MC stepped in as it was unfair on who came out of the hat last, so you obviously know it is a **** up as you're now making things up

The fact is at the AGM (which you didn't go to) the whole draw was made. After 2 rounds it was decided that it was unfair and got changed. As I said after one round maybe that is acceptable but to change after two rounds shows the league up as a joke. What a shame for the away teams in round two who by your own admission got a raw deal

What ECPL is saying is that the according to ECPL rules, the MC have the right to change the cup rules as and when they see fit.

This is normally reserved for instances such as one legged semis due to fixture backlogs.

The bottom line is, the MC showed a lack of foresight with the original format of the cup and now they are putting it right but unfortunately some teams have suffered in the process.
