Mabe 4-3 Mawnan HT 1-2 FT 3-3

The proverbial 'ding dong' game. Yeti - you got it right.

Mawnan led 3 times in the game and were 3-2 up with just 5 minutes to play, but Mabe played very well and deserved to get something out of today.

An overhead kick for the equaliser, followed by a goal early in extra time meant Mawnan had to throw everything at Mabe in the last 10 minutes. They managed to create 2-3 chances but were unable to put them away.

Good luck to Mabe in the next round (and cheers for the food at the Pub). Will be a tricky tie for any of the remaining big guns,

Junior Cup: Mabe 4-3 Mawnan AET

Massive win for us at Mabe today with everybody putting in a shift all over the park and it looked like we wanted it more in the end which was enough to see us through. Pick of the goals has to be an overhead kick from Ryan Caddy to force it to extra time with 5 mins to go. Good luck to Mawnan for the rest of the season who look a well organised side and will do well in the Trelawny Premier when at full strength again.

Mabe scorers: Timmy Hurrell x2, Me x1, Ryan Caddy x1

Helston 3 Titans 1 JC

Good luck to Helston in the next round, but we only have ourselves to blame , a missed pen in the first half two clear cut missed chances and restricted them to one shot for the entire first half. Second half and within 2 minutes we take the lead through a free kick, keeper just couldn't stop it tipping it into the top right corner. We continued our domination for another 10 minutes and then bang, someone pushed the self destruct button our energy levels went and Helston began to not only dominate but rightly after free kick after free kick tore us to shreds. A flukey equaliser was followed by a missed pen and then another pen that made it 2-1 a good third goal finished the tie, needless to say in between all that our keeper pulled off two or three more fine saves. A frustrating afternoon that could and should of turned out the other way had we the legs to keep going but a great learning lesson for our guys again.

Lizard dominated from start to finish, two well worked goals for a 2-0 ht lead second half some dreadful defending to make it 3-0 and a goalkeeping error to make it 4-0, all credit to lizard played well all the best for the next round, we didn't turn up for this game hopefully bounce back next week

Torpoint Athletic 2 - 3 St Dominick

We are more than disappointed in ourselves to not progress from this round but fair play to St Dom who kept plugging away right until FT. With 4mins remaining we were 2-1 up but we showed our inexperience and naivety and let St Dom equalise, for them then to hit us again with a cleatrocket from at least 35yards, maybe more, from a silly free kick. St Dom's captain really caught it, but in my opinion he should not have been on the pitch following a horror tackle earlier in the game. But that's football.

Obviously gutted with the result, along with a few other games we've had recently, but we'll come through it eventually and turn things around. Congratulations to St Dom who really worked hard for eachother to get the win and it showed. Thoroughly deserved in the end. It was nice to see a team with as many youngsters as us looking to play good football. The ginger lad in the middle impressed me especially.

Good luck for the rest of your cup run.

Thought this would be a good game but the first half was littered with fouls the ref blowing every two minutes, Titans had a penalty which was well saved by the Keeper other than that the first half was like the weather very dull.Second half started the same up untill Titans had one of many freekicks this one out by the touch line, not sure if it was a cross or shot but the keeper made a right mess of it that seemed to be the kick up the Jacksie that Helston needed because after that they stepped up a gear and it was just about all one way with Helston missing chance after chance and some times you need the rub of the green their first goal had a bit of luck about it,they then missed a penalty, scored a pen and the third was a very good goal.Overall i think Helston will be happy to move on with this win and mabe Blakey will get Joe Bray to put his boots on the correct feet next game.Good luck to Titans in the quest for Div 1 Champs

Very true, but no one expected them to get that far last season.. all depends on the draw at the end of the day!

Was lucky enough to catch a bit of the Lizard game this week, they're certainly the best side on the peninsula and a privilege to football.

I haven't seen such a free flowing display of football since watching the famous side of '64 down Ruan Minor.

Fully agree with the write up above. After finding ourselves 2-0 up early we just didn't want the game as much as St Dominick. They were the first to every challenge and second ball. It's something we need to look at over the course of the next couple of weeks. I was very impressed with St Dom on a whole. They attempted to play the ball as much as possible on a bumpy pitch. The 9 in the middle of the park was a stand out in my opinion. Great bunch of lads afterwards as well, very respectful and this comes from the manager. Tip for the gaffer, don't run the line after an operation. Looked in a world of pain!!

Onwards for us as we travel to Saltash this weekend. We managed to put them close 2 weeks back and we hope to go one better this weekend.

Luke Gibbons TAFC Manager.

You guys had great start and also play some good football with young lads, it took us 20mins to get going but we hung on in there and slowly got out self back into the game with our work rate of the ball which your lads didn't seem to want to match and we slowly got on top and got our reward with wat can only be described as a worldy free kick to win the game. We as a team just need to do this for 90+ mins week in week out if we are to get promoted this season. Overall I thought it was a good game played in a good spirit and both teams a credit to duchy football. Dream tie for us in the next round would be saltash 3rds.
