As a neutral st just footballing skills nil. Referee an absolute joke. For example st just boots ball high into the air players from both sides running to get under ball st just player kicks opposition of f his feet ref feels a word is sufficient.sooner someone shuts Steadman up the better

Wendron 1-2 St Just, I could come on here and say this and that about the ref and about St Just! But the reason that we lost today was that we didn't take any of our chances In an opening 20 minutes where we dominated play. St Just played their part and made it tough for us, as we pushed more men forward in the last 15 minutes we couldn't break them down and every single St Just player defended as if their lives depended on it! I'm disappointed but there will be a lot more twist and turns yet before this league is won. Steve and the St Just lads always good company after the game.

Newquay 0-2 Penryn.

A very depleted and wounded Penryn travelled to Newquay with 12 players, 2 of which were only signed on today (uni students, Felaini and overweight Savage look a likes).

Decent open game. Newquay had a man sent off for a stamp after about 30mins. Nice to see the ref actually make the right decision. No complaints either.

We went ahead about 20mins in, after a bit of Ryan Reeve magic, who put it on a plate for Ross Bowden. Then on about 40mins, we went 2 up....TC with the goal, didn't see it as I was laughing at our manager calling Ryan Forest Gump.

2nd half, Newquay came at us very very strong....we had a couple of breaks, but they had all the possession, they just didn't look like scoring.

Nice to have 3pts & clean sheet.

Our MOM Ross Symonds I would say.

St Agnes had 2 players sent off against Ludgvan today. The first was for throwing a punch, which missed, in retaliation to a facial slap that connected. No complaints if you raise your hands but both players should have gone or neither, im not sure how the ref saw one and not the other.

The second was our GK who came running out in a 1 on 1 situation, cleared the ball (great save) but collided with the onrushing striker who was injured. Hope the player is Ok. For me it wasn't a foul, he won the ball, but the ref gave a red after a 5 second pause.

We were already a couple behind before the first red but obviously being down to 9 men affected the scoreline.

Fal town scorers were joe Perrin and og

Didn't affect the result but the referee was poor

I'd have to agree on the statement regarding the official for this game, he gave numerous decisions which left not only the players but spectators (a handful) bemused, and after reading some of the other comments on officials today the question that should be asked is are they up to it? Sadly due to the lack of officials at this level there's no real alternative, although I do think the rule regarding having to be a level 5 to officiate combo isn't great as I have seen many referees in the trelawny league who wouldn't look out of place in this or the SWPL leagues...

Its a minimum of level 6 to referee in the Combo. When a referee first qualifies he becomes a level 7 (16+ years of age). Just because a referee is officiating in the combo does not mean he will be good. There is no such thing as a crap referee, only experienced and not so experienced ones. Applying the laws and knowing the laws are too separate things.

Also I have seen a lot of players/mangers who themselves are not up to the job.

Pointers, the reason you may have seen referee`s in the Trelawny League who would not look out of place is because they could well be experienced officials of level 5 who have been higher eg level 4 and or level 3, just because you see them on the Trelawny does not mean they are inexperienced or level 7 or even level 6..

Must say Mr manning + Mr law I watched the game yesterday at wendron the referee was very experienced but his interpretation of the laws was far different to both of yours.why would a referee allow a player time and time again to approach him after giving his decision and continually dispute what the ref had given against his team or why the opposition was not shown a card if the decision was for his team. In my opinion the referee did not apply the rules from the start if he had shown a card to either team in the first 10mins both sides would have known what to expect the ref would have learnt some respect. however he chose not to and players tried to push their limits.I know people will have different opinions but for me one side received a few booking 2nd half which should have been given at the start might have seen a little more football then

Like I said applying the laws is no easy task. One (whether right or wrong) decision is the difference between total and lack of control. If you get a card happy ref he will be accused of ruining the game but is just applying the laws. You get a ref not using the cards and he is accused of lacking control of the game and not applying the laws. This is what I mean by experience. Us refs need to find that balance.

Deadcert, I cannot answer that as I was not at the game so anything I say on that would be pure conjecture, But what I can assure you of is that if a player continually did to me as you say he did to the referee at that game then I would have no hesitation in issuing a caution and if it persisted it would quickly be followed by the second caution. Yesterday I had two cautions, I could have used a red card but made the decision to keep that in my pocket ( reasons that I will not go into ) so in effect I am inconsistant but I am quite happy with all my decisions yesterday whether you put it down to experience matters not, I am sure mrlaw18 knows where I am coming from on that.

Whilst we're on the subject of refs....Andrew McKnight yesterday....flawless. Didn't put a foot wrong, I'm fairly sure Newquay would agree with that comment.

Completely agree mate, thought he was spot on yesterday no argument from me for the sending, and he always looked to play advantage, in what was a decent game of football, just a pity it took my lads to be 2-0 down and with only 10 men to start playing.

Good luck for the rest of the season guys

Agree with your comment Mr manning.I,m sure like you most referees would have told the player that it had nothing to do with him and to go away,as you say followed by a card if he choses to continue on the otherhand this ref chose to allow the player to continue and even maybe influence his decisions
