St Darren
They're also paid to do a job. In all fairness the decision for brown was terrible. Refs at lower level! Well, some can, some can't, some shouldn't
stevieb
lets bash all ref s and linesmen at our level lets chase them out of the game , lets shout abuse at them threaten them , get personal about them then you will all be happy as they will all pack up and take their large wedge that they get each week and retire to sunnier climes , oh we already do this each week, so will the armchair critics be when there are no refs and teams cant play each week ? i tell you were they will be bemoaning the fact where have they all gone ? at combo level the linesmen are club linos who do it for the love of the game not for money , we do it for the love of football as do refs i dont begrudge them a penny what their match fees are as the abuse they get from some clubs teams is a disgrace , and you know who you are ? its great we have a forum to voice our opinions even the one we dont agree with , that is what a democracy is about but guys come on we all have crap days at work at sport where what ever we do it does not go right , so what do we do we forget it and move on to the next game or next day ,its easy to put our teams failing down to the refs / officials but the ccfa have but out the chance for people to train to be refs at a lower cost and the Trelawney league will pay to put some through and who many have taken the offer up ? not many because there is always an excuse not to , so please either put up or shut up as ref bashing is becoming boring on these pages , and what would yourselves feel if the ref had their own forum and were slagging of players managers every week and there names were there for all to see how would they feel ? the air would be blue , please guys think when you post as without the refs were would we be? isaac rosenberg
Yeah. Look how many games are cancelled in the lower reaches of the Trelawny League already....it's like the water coming into the lower decks of the Titanic while everything looks fine up above...... Having said that, some referees are better than others. My only objection is to the minority who keep trying to brown-nose the FA, like Robin Hood in reverse (wealth redistribution, think about it). Unfortunately, while there is still a risk that goal-line technology on open Cornish pitches might stretch one or two budgets and get nicked anyway, or even reveal that the goal-lines are not straight anyway, we'd better be nice to them, spose.. Referees mostly do their best. I just object to regulation, law, the state or imposed order of any sort, really. Nothing personal.

isaac rosenberg
I hope your grandchildren are taught how to think rather than what to think, Keith; and to learn what they want to rather than what Michael Gove would prescribe..... Shocked by the comments from Cornish Hoop. I feel Shagtown is like the Oxford of Cornwall. It's even got a university in it now. If it were my footballing Alma Mater, I would respect its historical achievements enormously.....still nearly twice as many Combo League championships as the second most successful club. And you don't see groundsmanship of that standard very often outside the Premiership. How many would you have scored if you'd been down the Saltings every fortnight skipping round the rabbits, Hoop ? Martin McHugh
But Gove wants Britain to "catch up" with the rest of the world!! How can we teach children what they want if the guidelines are so tight! MQx
