danhaggett7
Looks like AFC Bodmin v St Minver won't be on, our original ref phoned to say he's injured and with the referee shortage I can't see a replacement being found before the 11am deadline! mrlaw18
I maybe wrong in saying this but do you have to have a qualified referee at junior level? An agreed person can referee and has ALL the powers as if he/she was qualified. Or, one side provides a ref for the first half and the other team provides a ref for the second half. If there is not enough people to ref maybe play 10 v 10 or 9 v 9 so that someone can ref. This way players get a game and fixtures will be played. Just an idea... Minns
Happened last week, the referee for wendron 3rds vs Holmans res the referee failed to turn up so our second team keeper stepped up and refereed the game so that the game could go ahead. simmo147
Not sure, But think that would NOT be allowed in Duchy League.

scotchio
i feel the need to say something here.We have all played at whatever level of football and we all love the saturday afternoon rush...isn`t it about time that at least 10 of us on this forum step up and do a referees course and offer ourselves to the game we love? i`m about to do my level 2 but i will also do my referee course. Will anyone else here on this forum come with me? we can all moan that the ref is shit, biased, or just a plain arse but have any of us ever been prepared to do what a ref does? its a thankless task but if we get 10 folks off this forum into the training programme then at least we can stop bitching about " no ref" the "ref was biased", the ref " was useless etc etc etc...who is with me? Soccer Follower
Hopefully Scott there are/will be a few interested as the current offer from the CCFA is a very good one. I know that Ledleystheking, who is helping run one of the Chacewater teams this season,is taking the course with a view to taking up the whistle next season (or this season when we have no fixture)
mrlaw18
Just because a ref has not got a certificate does not mean they can not ref a game. A rule that says 'only qualified refs can only referee a match...' is just stupid. Surely we all know what players can and can not do during a match and a bit of paper does not make any difference. No ref is no excuse to not play a game of football at junior level.
