St Dominick were tidy on the ball but didn't threaten too often. Grampound scorers : Tom Foster, Derrick Lucas, Lee Budge.

Premier Sixes
JJ JONES DUCHY FOOTBALL LEAGUE Lamerton are through to the third round of the KMD Developments KO Cup after a comfortable 7-0 win at Polperro. James Steer and Alec Mayne both scored twice with Simon Kelly, Phil Wearing and Simon Breyley completing the scoring. Saltash United made it five out of five in their quest for the Premier Division title with a 4-2 win over Pelynt. Josh Tapp, Ryan Tetley, Tony Jane and Josh Fedrick scored for Saltash with Anthony Harman getting a brace in reply. Pensilva retained their three point lead after winning 3-0 at Biscovey. The home side only had a bare eleven again and were under pressure for long periods. They defended stoutly, but unfortunately two of the goals came from goalkeeping errors. Karl Gross, Matt Carter-Brown and Jon Filbey all found the target. St.Stephen and St.Columb Major was one of four games to ahead with a club official as referee as the referee shortage threatened to decimate the programme. St.Stephen went 1-0 after 22 minutes. From close in both Matthew Spry and Andrew Sincock could have scored the goal but Sincock got their first to fire home. Kyle Willmott added a second from close in again on 59 minutes, but St.Columb had a chance to pull one back on 79 minutes from the penalty spot. Ciaran Igoe saved the spot kick before substitute Jack Mingo scored the goal of the game in the 86th minute as St.Stephen won 3-0. St.Cleer were beaten 3-1 at home by Torpoint Athletic. Tom Rothwell scored a brace with Chris Bartolini also on target for the visitors. Matt Bryant replied for St.Cleer. At the top of Division One another game played with an unofficial referee saw leaders Godolphin Atlantic lose 2-1 to Altarnun, who therefore reversed a recent home defeat to the same opponents. Ben Howlett scored for Godolphin in the first half against the run of play following a free kick. Altarnun got their full deserts after the break. Although the home keeper put in a superb performance he was helpless to stop Sam Smith curling a shot to the far corner and in off the post. Mike Diebner gave Altarnun the spoils and full credit to the home first team linesman who refereed the game extremely well. North Petherwin join Godolphin and Altarnun level on points at the top after an impressive 4-2 win at Lostwithiel. Lee Ashton and James Hutchings scored for Lostwithiel. Grampound beat St.Dominick 3-1. This was a good open game with play fairly even in the first half. Grampound took the lead five minutes before half time when Tom Foster headed his first goal for the club. St.Dominick threw more men forward in the second half, but it was the host’s that stretched their lead when Derrick Lucas stepped inside his marker and hit a shot from twenty-five yards. St.Dominick pulled a goal back ten minutes from time when a good through ball was picked up by Corey Nesbitt to round the keeper and roll the ball into the empty net. With time running out, Grampound confirmed the win when Lee Budge picked up the ball from a poor clearance and went on to score. Padstow United beat Calstock 3-1. Padstow fully deserved the points as they totally dominated their opponents after going behind to an early Jan Humphrey opener for the visitors. After this early set back the home side pushed Calstock back into their own half. Padstow came close on a number of occasions but the final ball let them down. Simon Press was playing well in the centre of midfield and he had a number of shots which failed to hit the target. Finally after 37 minutes after some neat inter play between Cam Wickins and Tom Hull the former curled the ball into the far corner leaving the keeper rooted. At this stage Padstow were all over the visitors but they battled really well. Padstow came out for the second half and continued their dominance and soon went in front when an Ali Johnston effort looped up and birthday boy Tim Hull just beat the keeper to the ball to head the home side further in front. The game continued as the first half with Calstock hoping to score on the break but the home defence held firm. With 15 minutes left substitute Joe Combellack wrapped up the points when he turned in a cross from Hull. Kyle Tippet with seconds left and after beating his marker with only the keeper to beat saw his shot come back off the post. The game was well refereed by Steve Tootle who rightly cautioned players of both sides for clear dissent. Edgcumbe, under new management, picked up a first league point of the season after a one all draw at St.Mawgan. The home goal was scored by Stuart Harris. St.Dennis won their first game of the season with a one goal win at Looe Town. Premier Sixes’ sharper shooting proved the difference as they won their Division Two clash at Gerrans & St.Mawes United 6-1. This was a good game of football, well refereed and was level at half time with Charlie Jones scoring the home goal. Sixes were clinical in front of goal, especially after the break with Martyn Probert completing a hat trick with further goals from Karl Olander, Dan Parsonage and Joe Harvey. St.Breward dominated the first half at home to Holywell/Cubert Athletic, but conceded two breakaway goals to Peter Bruce and Simon Holmes. Holmes scored a second early in the second half to effectively end the game. St.Breward reduced the final score line to 1-3 with Luke Richards finding the net. Week St.Mary stay in the bottom two after a 5-1 home defeat by LC Phoenix. Adam Daw, Darren Webber, John Bye, Jake Collings and Josh Barron scored for Phoenix with Steve Short getting the home consolation for a much weakened host team. Sticker ‘s first home league game was one to forget as they drew 2-2 with Gunnislake. The home side were much the better side throughout the first half but chances came and went. Both sides were guilty of poor control and misplaced passes. Sticker did manage to take the lead just before the interval when Alex Keast shot home. Gunnislake caught the Sticker defence cold immediately after the restart when after a defensive error Kieren Jasper was allowed to run through to equalise. For all the efforts of the home side they were unable to stamp any authority on the game, but did take the lead again with a second strike from Keast. This should have given Sticker confidence to push on, but another give away from midfield allowed Jasper to double his total and give the visitors the draw. AFC Bodmin was another game with an unofficial referee. Visitors St.Minver won 2-1 with goals from Corey Cleave and Jason Northcott. Andy Seymour replied for Bodmin. Third Division leaders North Hill suffered a first league defeat of the season as St.Stephen reserves won 3-2 to take the host’s 100 per cent record. Jason Ridgment scored both home goals with the visitor’s playing well above their normal level to win with a Ryan Hayhurst brace and a Scott Hill goal. Casey Laity scored four goals as Queens Rangers beat Lifton 5-1. Matt Bale completed the home total with Cody Wilson getting the Lifton consolation. St.Neot were also 5-1 winners at home to Lanreath. Dan Chapman and Connor Stone scored a brace apiece with Jamie Eldridge completing the home tally. Ray Clarke pulled one back for Lanreath. There was a big derby at Stoke Climsland where Callington Town endorsed the promotion credentials with Ricky Coton scoring the only goal of the game. Stoke had a chance to hit back in the final minute, but missed a penalty kick. A Zach Patching brace and a Leigh Frost goal gave Lanivet Inn a 3-2 success at Delabole United. Kieran Barrett scored both home goals. North Petherwin reserves were held two all at home by Tintagel as they looked to retain their advantage at the top of Division Four. Craig Charnock and Andi Sleeman scored for Petherwin with Adam Price and James Cowling replying, but this will be seen as two points lost. Veryan closed the gap after beating Tregony 6-0 in their derby match. The visitors were the better side in the first half but lacked a cutting edge. Veryan got their goals at crucial times and to rub further salt into the wound ex Tregony player Kai Pearce scored a hat trick. Martin Bishop, Liam Cope and Bobby Lee Johns competed the scoring. Johns marred his day by getting a straight red at the death. Roche must wonder what they have to go to get a win. They fell behind at Pensilva reserves when Andy Livingstone headed home. Lee Tarbuck and Jamie Stephens with a clever back heel put them 2-1 up and they hit bar and post on a few occasions. Jacob England put in a cross come shot that just rolled over the line for an equaliser and Pensilva hit them with a sucker punch 3-2 win with a Marc Tuck goal ten minutes from time. A much weakened Wadebridge Town side lost 4-3 at home to St.Cleer reserves despite Chris Simmons scoring a hat trick. St.Cleer’s Zak Peel also found the net three times with Rob Cole completing their tally. Two Chris Sullivan goals take league newcomers High Street to the top of Division Five as they beat St.Mawgan 2-0. Tom Wyman scored four goals as Southgate Seniors beat Godolphin Atlantic reserves 5-2. Dan Gregory completed the home scoring. Pelynt reserves returned to form with a decisive 7-0 defeat of St.Teath. Eliot Keen and Jacob Bellamy scored a brace apiece with Jordan Dicks, Dave Allsey and Joe Raggett completing the rout. Royal Par completed the double over their ground share rivals Tregrehan Mills. Krzysztop Kruszewski, Dean Dingle and a Mark Nagle brace gave them a 4-2 win. AVFC4
AFC Bodmin 1-2 St Minver AFC kept a high tempo in the opening exchanges, harrying us into mistakes and pressing well. A neat strike put Bodmin ahead mid way through the first half. It took until the 40th minute for us to get going and putting some moves together. Second half was a different affair and we played patiently and kept possession with Bodmin keeping all but one man behind the ball. A Corey Cleave pen and a neat finish from Jason Northcott completed the come back

Foul Throw 3
St Cleer 1 - 3 Torpoint Athletic The game started off poorly with neither team really putting their foot on the ball. St Cleer eventually got a foothold and had a succession of corners which Torpoint managed to defend. A quick breakaway got Torpoint's Rothwell through on goal and although it wasn't put away, it gave Torpoint the kickstart they needed to take control. Soon after, good work on the right again gave Rothwell a shooting chance inside the box. His cross/shot fell to a well placed Bartolini who was only a yard or so out to tap in at the back post. St Cleer, shooting downhill, did continue to put the pressure on though, with more set pieces. They equalised from an inswinging cross from the right avoiding everyone but the St Cleer attacker who got the vital touch and finished well. For the rest of the half Torpoint weren't rattled by the setback and pushed forward again. Just before HT Rothwell's pace again got him inside the box, to be brought down by the GK. He picked himself up and finished the penalty well. Although Torpoint went into HT 2-1 up, St Cleer might've counted themselves unlucky after having numerous shooting chances from 20 yards, with some going close. 2nd half with Torpoint shooting downhill there wasn't as much space in behind. They carved out a few goal scoring chances in the half, with one sitter missed at what could've been a crucial time with it still being 2-1. Eventually the 3rd was put away to give Torpoint a much needed cushion. Superb footwork and throughball by the young Chris Westall put Rothwell through. The St Cleer GK was quick off his line but Rothwell was brave and slid in to finish under the goalkeeper. St Cleer to their credit continued to press, with 5 & 11 causing Torpoint problems at times. The introduction of Torpoint's Smith who has been missing through injury since pre-season, gave them a bit more solidity in the middle and helped shut the game down. A much needed 3pts for Torpoint to boost our confidence after a lot of draws this season, and a close tie losing to Saltash in the cup last week. I think St Cleer will pick up points this season and have improved from last year. No.5 was a dangerman and if he and his team mates actually see the benefits they can be to eachother they will do well. Thank you for the hospitality. Good luck for the remainder of your season.
