Penryn 2-7 Wendron.

An extremely strong Wendron squad outplayed a young(ish) Penryn team.

Wendron were helped with the goals by me.....had a nightmare in the sticks for Penryn, but take nothing away from Wendron, very good hard working composed team. My money is on them for the title.

Two superb finishes from Ryan Reeve for Penryns goals.

Quick note, don't know his name as this was the first time I'd ever seen him. But thought the referee in the St Ives game was superb. Didn't get a decision wrong, communicated throughout the game, and any back chat was met with a stern riposte. Need more like him

Mark, I don't know how Illogan played yesterday. I was complimenting your side on a fine win! I like you and everyone else, am allowed to share my opinions and views in a public forum, providing those views are not offensive! I am a manager but I am also a football fan, due to my age and the football that I liked to watch whilst growing up, I prefer to watch the game played in a certain way! Not the right or the wrong way just my preference. Illogan are very organised, defensively the best in the league so far, the players seem streetwise during the game, and the club has tasted lots of success over a long period, this in my opinion makes the team to beat this year. I have seen them play this season in pre season and in the league, they are effective which is what ultimately matters, I would rather see a more expansive passing game. I hope that you are well Mark, see you soon.

have to agree with the ref , first time for Hayle this season and i thought he was very good , did not hear much back chat apart from the late sending off as i thought two very well drilled young sides who both try to play fotball ,St .Ives always a threat with Ross up front but the defence kept him fairly quite for Ross ,glad to see him back on the pitch after last seasons injury , at Hayle we have respect for him as he wanted to stay and play swpl football when all the players bailed preseason ,but we could not get a side together , thought you took your goal well and our keeper was the busier and made two outstanding saves in my own opinion i did not think there was much between the sides and hoped we could have gone in at half time 0-0 but the goal that late can in the 1st half can knock your team out of its stride , we played better in the second half but St.Ives always looked pacy on the counter attack. as us you have lost players this season but i think in your clubs case this is probably for the better as you ride high in the league and you now have a team thats plays for each other and apart from one who was carded give great respect to your oppononts and the ref , look forward to the rematch at ours and as a club keep on doing what you are as it is working on and of the pitch ,enjoyed the game and good luck until we meet again

Agree with every word there Steve, apart from I'm not a St Ives player anymore!

Agree with what you said about Ross, always looked lively and set up a lot of chances in the second half, but the whole Hayle team looked very well organised, but perhaps lacking a bit of goalscoring threat

Good luck to both teams for the season

sorry ben thought you were part of the set up and agree about the strike force but we will get there Liam Mooney has only just come back from junior football and is adjusting to combo level again ,and Ben Hocking who was scoring for us earlier on is recovering from a Beckham injury and has just had the protective boot on , these slippers you youngsters wear now days for boots give no protection to the feet ha ha we had a coulple away yesterday as well but that happens to all club this time of season with the usual xmas shopping trips , never happened in my day you either went midweek or on a sunday , xmas shopping on a saturday how very dare you ha ha , wish i knew who you were as would have been nice to put a face to you name as you are a very good poster on these pages , i was the guy on the line for Hayle so perhaps if you are around again give me a shout cheers Stevie b

Correction......I was running the line in the St Just-Falmouth game so had a good view of the other end of the pitch as always and confirmed with the ref afterwards that St Just's fifth goal had already been given before a defender tried to clear and somebody else smacked it back into the net....

First goal...Stu Nicholls. Second AND fifth.... Striker Steadman, the finest number 9 ever produced by Barnsley, Third Tim George and Fourth Graham Stirr ....no ohhh gees at all !

Really enjoyed that one.....Falmouth made quite a game of it, coming back from 4-1 to 4-3 before St Just sealed it in injury time....much improved Falmouth side, well done. St Just were missing about six of the squad because somebody decided to get married......priorities, guys !!!

Nobody should be allowed to marry before 5.30 on a Saturday. Of course, if we were a John Roberts Standard Old Pals Club the game would have been postponed, but tant pis, as the French say, 3 points anyway !!!

Tinners YAAAAY . Worth the 450 mile round trip as always ! :yahoo:
