Went to watch the tavy derby today .... Bêre deserved summin out of the game I thought .. Didn't think it was a sending off the player looked as though he was shot in the face by a sniper he rolled around so many tines I lost count .. Thought the game was poorly refereed on a poor tavy surface

poor game bere were the better side but Tavy do what they do best took the lead and shut up shop and done it very well but the ref was very poor the sending off of Westlake was a joke[could of been a different game] he's no angel but when speaking to the ref at half time he said I thought you stamped on him so lets all go thought shall we I thought good refs went on what they see not reputations not the only thing he got wrong he was poor all game for both sides tavi should of had two pens on a brighter note thought the tavi linesman was superb best around

just love the taste you get in your mouth when you lose  sour grapes

jefferson hog and playmaker think you must of been watching a different game to the one i referee today

i wont comment on the sending off only to say i was right behing it when it happen,, where were you?? 50 yards away in the dugout

4 cautions and 1 sending off in a local derby. not bad considering i tried to keep my cards in my pocket

you win some you lose some. MOVE ON TO YOUR NEXT GAME

Got to say i trought both clubs linos were good today

I'll never understand what "trying to keep my cards in my pocket" means? Does it mean that because it's a derby you can get away with a bit more than a regular game? Surely if an offence warrants a yellow or red card then that's the punishment that has to be dished out? I hear it off so many ref's, what they're basically saying is, in a derby the first one's free.

Every game should be reffereed in the same way, and "trying to keep my cards in my pocket" is an awful statement, if the offence warrants a card, produce a card. No one is perfect and no one gets everything right, but the most frustrating act of a referee for me is inconsistency, so admitting to conciously keeping your cards in your pocket instead of keeping an open mind surely brings out the inconsistency in refs.

Don't try and pre empt, Just give what you see, that's all we ask!

How sad that you are trying to defend westlake after that stamp. It was horrendous and crago is lucky he wasn't seriously hurt. Bere deserved nothing out of the game. Happy to just try and kick people rather than play football. Reminds me of last years Bodmin 2nds side...

Tavistock lads worked hard again & played some decent football. Ref tried to let the game flow as best he could considering bere constant fouling and we could have had 2 pens.

Always nice to win a local derby.

he wasn't seriously hurt cause there was no stamp ref didn't see but still gave it the ref seems way to friendly with some of the tavi lot not sure that had anything to do with it

Hey you two JEFFERSON HOG and PLAYMAKER I cannot believe and won t believe you can have 2 idiots in the same village, please someone tell me they at least live over 50 yds apart,i watched the game yesterday and thought you lot were absolutely rubbish,in fact you were better when the thug was sent of.The youngsters of Tavi showed you how to play football,i do think Bere thought they were playing Rugby, they were trying to pull, kick and bully all game, the good thing was that there was a good strong ref in charge, and you got what you deserved. Is it true that the young lad up front Jack Crago, went into the Bere changing rooms after the game to give them his shorts,as you lot were trying to grab them off him all afternoon,a very poor poor side in fact the worst team I have seen all season.

they better not use foul language then Mr Manning?

at the end of the day the ref gives what he sees. Things look different at different angles. A good ref makes a decision on what he believes has seen not what thinks has happened. We all see things on TV that look innocent and then seen at different TV angle and the ref has it right.

'KEEPING THE CARDS IN THE POCKET' does not mean inconsistency. We do have some discretion when to use them and if we can get away with just a word then that is what the ref should do. Its about distinguishing between a careless, reckless and excessive. Were these meet is the different between a word and a card.
