CornishCanary
Im offering this thought to the wise people of Devon and Cornwall as a point of discussion. Would it be more advantageous if the leagues Cornwall (and Devon), instead of feeding into the Western league Premier division, could feed into Southern Premier Division one, South and west or higher?. I ask this, as it is clear that having Truro City be the sole Cornish representative means the financial ability to sustain a higher standard of football is difficult/ impossible for other Cornish teams. In order to have more teams from our region playing higher up the football pyramid and allowing the trickle down of wealth to the smaller teams in D&C I ask again, would it be better if our leagues fed in to higher leagues instead of how it is now? This in order to allow away day travel to be more economically viable for teams with the promise of greater rewards, bigger gates, to improve home facilities and financial recompense for teams that are geographically more remote to those in the rest of the England, and let Cornish football thrive? Bruegel the Elder
Would the promoted SWPL teams be able to compete at this level? Wouldn't they just bounce up and down, promotion and relegation, ad nausium?

This would help but clubs will ask who will pay and when can busy managers fit this into their daily work routine?? MQx
Guest Monty
There is always a way. Also would add a bit of stability to league and clubs.
CornishCanary
Would the promoted SWPL teams be able to compete at this level? Wouldn't they just bounce up and down, promotion and relegation, ad nausium? I would hope that the additional increase in income would generate a more stable platform fro Cornish clubs to build on and compete. Hopefully competing at a higher level would produce more capable players and managers. Although theoretically, if the Cornish leagues were to feed into higher divisions, the amount of clubs relative to the population of Cornwall would have to be reduced in order for my suggestion to work... isaac rosenberg
As Truro City's experience shows, no Cornish club is sufficiently well-supported to sustain higher levels of football. I'd like to see the border closed as far as football is concerned. I don't care about the standard as long as St Just score one more than the (preferably) mediocre opposition. When Falmouth Town stopped playing Truro and St Blazey regularly and had to meet the likes of Bristol Manor Farm instead, interest, crowds and revenue dropped and wages and travel expenses rose. In fact, that's why the club is in the hoot in which it now finds itself. If you want to playa higher standard, go to England. Nowhere near as much fun. You get a much better class of war, I mean competition, with your neighbours and close relatives than you can ever get with a load of mercenary strangers with no sense of place, blood, loyalty or politics.
