get in
St mawgan 3-2 st teath ! Horrible wind and both sides did there best in very difficult conditions a draw would have been a fair result but to take nothing from the game is frustrating as the wind made football a farce at times

Premier Sixes
JJ JONES DUCHY FOOTBALL LEAGUE Division One leaders Altarnun’s winning run came to an end at Padstow but the game was badly affected by an extremely strong wind blowing across the pitch. To their credit both teams tried to play football in very difficult conditions. Both sides had chances to score but the game was decided seven minutes from time when Padstow broke through the middle and Darren Roose played in Kyle Tippet who coolly drilled the ball past the keeper. James Morris headed Polperro into the lead at home to St.Mawgan, but Stuart Harris scored twice before the break, the second from the spot, to put the visitors ahead. Colin Wilson equalised after the break, but two more Harris goals gave St.Mawgan a 4-2 away win. Gerrans & St.Mawes United beat St.Breward 7-1 to leave the visitors pinned to the bottom of Division Two. Charlie Jones scored a hat trick with Glyn Hitchings, Haydn Andrew, Steve Green and Ed Rimmer completing the home tally. Luke Richards scored the visitors consolation. Holywell/Cubert Athletic beat Week St.Mary 2-1. Both sides play surprisingly good football given the conditions. Lachlan Brace and Peter Bruce scored for Holywell with Mark Taylor replying. Boscastle thought the hard work had been done when trailing by just one goal at half time against the elements at home to Sticker, but the conditions were so severe they could hardly put two passes together after the restart. Sticker went on win 3-1. Connor Paine, Matt Searle and Alex Keast scored for Sticker with the home consolation coming from a screaming strike from Nick Lawson. St.Stephen reserves are turning fortunes around after a disappointing start in Division Three following a second successive away victory, 5-2 at Camelford. Lee Whetter scored a brace with James Allen, Matt Spry and Jamie Bullock completing the visitors scoring. George Hughes and Craig Thompson replied for Camelford. Leaders Welcome Inn beat Lanreath 4-2 with Rory Lewis scoring a brace. Mark Perry and Keith White completed the home scoring with Lanreath replying through an own goal and a Ray Clarke strike. Former Lifton player Ryan Hancock scored one of the goals as North Hill stayed level on points at the top after a 2-0 win at Lifton. Callington Town won 4-1 at Queens Rangers. North Petherwin reserves were taken to the wire before beating Roche 5-4 to consolidate top place in Division Four. The windy conditions were a great leveller and Petherwin were grateful to a Sam Stockdale hat trick to claim the spoils. Joe Reeve and Barry Rutherford were the other home scorers. Andy Geach scored a brace for Roche with Lee Tarbuck and Jamie Stephens also on target. Tintagel had a good 4-0 win over Mevagissey in awful conditions. Martyn Cockcroft, Wayne Lloyd, Adam Price and Shaun Keeble scored a goal apiece. St.Cleer reserves were 2-0 winners over Gorran with Zak Peel and Dan Bolitho hitting their goals. Tregrehan Mills scored a second win to help them move away from the bottom reaches of Division Five with a good 3-1 win at Pelynt reserves. Tom Adams, Dom Swire and Sam Rowse scored for Tregrehan with Matt Baker replying. St.Newlyn East reserves picked up a first win of the season after seven successive losses when beating Boscastle reserves 4-3. Colin Gregory scored a brace with Chris Symons and Chris Hall completing the scoring in a tight game well controlled by referee Colin Spence. Godolphin Atlantic reserves’ recent good run was ended with a 3-2 home defeat to Royal Par. The wind proved too great an opponent for the young home side who were undone by a fine Dean Dingle hat trick. Danny Burton and Kevin McHugh replied for the hosts. Kevin Allen scored a brace on his debut for St.Minver reserves as they beat Standard Inn 4-0. The away team, having travelled far turned up with 10 men and in these extreme conditions it was always going to be an uphill battle. The home side struck first, with a goal from Kevin Allen sliding past the keeper and they perhaps could have made it three or four but failed to take their chances. The away team had the wind on their side in the first half but never really troubled the home keeper, Simon Benny. St Minver had the wind behind them in the second half and quickly used their chances with a goals from Connor Bridgway and Allen scoring his second. Captain Brian Kelly finished the goal tally heading home a well taken corner. St.Mawgan reserves beat St.Teath by the odd goal in five. St.Mawgan scored through Kevin Pearce, Steve Hackett and an own goal with Scott Bennett and Dan Edwards replying for St.Teath. St.Dominick moved through to the third round of the Cornwall Junior Cup at the expense of Stratton United after a 6-3 victory. Dan Snowden headed in from a corner to open the scoring in the 15th minute. Corey Nesbit rounded the keeper to double the hosts lead before half time. Five minutes after the break Kian Armitage added a third. Luke Smith hit a drive from wide out on the left to reduce the arrears, but Armitage scored his second to restore the three goal gap. Smith hit another drive for his second, but goals from Nesbitt and Scott Coombe put the tie out of reach. Smith had the final say with his hat trick goal for the visitors. Pensilva put out fellow Premier side St.Stephen with a 3-0 away win. They took a 23rd minute lead when a cross from Aaron Varcoe was volleyed home by Jon Filbey. The biggest surprise was that it took until the 75th minute for Pensilva to score their second through Martin Putt. Three minutes later and the tie was decided as Jimmy Miles scored their third. St.Columb Major beat Foxhole 3-0. Joe Gaskell gave them a 17th minute lead, but they had to endure an uncomfortable hour before sealing their place in the next round. Two Tom Ball goals both from Gaskell crosses finally settled the tie. AFC Bodmin defended well against the wind in the first half at Wadebridge and then hit the hosts with a four goal salvo after the restart. Jason Willis scored a brace with Dan Haggett and Adam Brown completing the scoring.
