Not blaming anyone, will point to having a side that most would not recognise, including many of our own supporters - we had 5 Reserves in and a new signing, far too many injuries, illness, suspensions, work and other commitments for such a small squad. In truth, PZ played better football, used route one to their advantage, put more of their chances away than we did, can't argue with that.

Some players made some costly mistakes, were outfought on occasions, but you couldn't fault the commitment and that is all we ask, that they give 100% when they pull on a Newquay shirt. We know they won't win every week, we are happy when they do, disappointed but understand when they don't, they are our lads and we will support them regardless.

Well done to PZ, best of luck when they take on St Austell.

For the second week running it was great to see a game well contested with little to cause the ref any aggravation.Penzance youngsters came of age today, played some excellent football ,kept the ball well and rode their luck at times.Always looked dangerous going forward and worked hard and encouraged one another.

Well done to the players that have stayed loyal, and I hope that there are some players out there with ability and ambition locally that will hopefully join a limited squad as there is no money or magic wands in pz but a great team spirit. Scorers today Chris Bullock,Jamie Payne,Callum George and Lewis Caspell.

You're definitely right about the hard work and excellent football. This was the best Magpies display for some time, well done to everyone involved.

With a little luck it will really give the players a lift over the coming weeks.

Dobwalls 5-4 Helston

Despite the near gale force winds and sticky surface both teams played some superb attacking football. The game could have gone either way.

Dobwalls looked comfortable at 4-1 but Helston drew level with 3 goal in a 20 minute spell and looked to be on top and likely winners only for the hosts to retake the lead shortly after the restart.

The last 10 minutes were frantic but the hosts held on for a memorable victory.

Echo the above comments, the wind is always an issue down at Dobwalls but credit to both teams who tried and did play good football in awful conditions. Have been impressed with Dobwalls for some time now, always competitive, play half tidy football and are always knocking on the door for a top 6 place in the league. Talking to a few people at the ground on Saturday, some seem to think that this season will be the managers last at the club, as he is moving on to pastures new, hope that's not true as always guaranteed to watch good football at Lantoom Park. Enjoyable day none the less and best of luck to Dobwalls for the rest of the season.
