Who Would Be A Manager

Recommended Posts

You need the skin of a Rhino, When your struggling and losing it's the Managers fault, When your winning and riding high everyone wants to take over. On top of that you have 20+ ego's to deal with all of whom think there the best thing since sliced bread. I for one am considering is it all worth it. I had a fantastic time last season at St. Minver, and was just starting to enjoy myself again at St.Merryn, when once again dark clouds appear. I hope after this weekend we put things to bed and kick on to mount a serious bid for the title. Non of us are perfect , but a winning team should not override a happy team. This is Duchy Football where guys have worked hard all week at various professions to come together on a Saturday to let off steam and enjoy a few beers after. Perspective Guys.

Fully agree Simmo. A thankless job at times organising the boys to try and get them play in the right way. There's always going to be some darker moments but luckily most of us have a fantastic bunch of lads to work with. Keep plugging away mate. From what I've seen you've significantly improved 2 clubs.

You also have to think that no-one is forcing you to do it. Everyone is a critic, but if you aren't enjoying it, don't do it. It can be a tough, lonely place in the managers' spot but it can also be joyous and rewarding. It causes me stress and worry, frustration and anger, but at the end of the day, it's the reward of any success that keeps me going.

Can certainly concur with all the above have had a year out since finishing last year and missed it like crazy, chopping at the bit again if honest but its still nice to watch the boys now and again, just a pity about the politics you get within clubs nowadays sometimes regardless of success but that,s the nature of the beast...lol
