teflon123
I happened to watch the first meeting between these two sides and it was one of the best games i have seen so far this season and therefore wanted to see the return leg at Torpoint and i wasnt let down, a great advert for ECPL between two sides who are step above any other team in that league. Parkway started well and dominted the first 20 mins until a well worked Torpoint goal gave them the lead which they quickly doubled minutes later before controling the rest of the half. Both teams started the 2nd half well and Torpoint scored their third after 60 mins from a great header from Mr Stacey. The rest of the half belonged to Parkway who battered their opponents and i lost count how many corners they forced. Parkway then got back into the game from the penalty spot and then gave themselves hope when Ryan Fice scored a header from a corner. Parkway could have equalised in the final minute but Mr Fice just failed to get on the end of a cross from the Parkway Winger. On the whole i would say a point may have been a fair result but if any team did deserve the win it was Torpoint. Torpoint included Darren Hicks, Luke Avis-Riordan and Lewis Kershaw in their line-up who were all impressive but for me the Torpoint number 6 was man of the match. Credit to both teams who put on a good display of football in front of a large crowd.
AL Capone
Spot on ^^^ Good opening 20mins from both sides. Throwing not delt with properly led to Parkway defence being flat footed, to which led Torpoint opener. Torpoint doubled there lead through a scramble on a corner. 2-0 HT. Even start to 2nd half. Great cross lead to Stacey header 3-0. Parkway could of folded there and then but bold move to go 4-3-3 with Fice and England coming on lead to a fight back. Last 20mins belong to Parkway. Fice winning a pen, possible sending off defender was last man. England converted pen. Parkway had numberous corners 5 in a row. Fice finally scoring late on with great header. Fice again had the last chance of the game was gonna equalise only for a wicked bounce went past him. Torpoint grateful for full time whistle.... Parkway usual line up. No 1st team. Torpoint looked to have a few in.... Hicks Glassup Luke Avis-Riorden callington. Decent crowd, and good game to watch!
Ian Pethick
How many first teamers has each team got in? Surely parkway will have a few as they can't keep all there stars happy and they need games! All the Parkway first team squad are getting games . Mike Landricombe , Danny Lewis and Paul Heveran were all on the bench for the Liskeard game on Tuesday night . No complaints either from Will Stringer , Dan Hart or Lance Bailey when they were brought off . Back on subject , Andrew Moon has done a superb job in bringing together this Parkway ECPL side . Especially when you consider that he only took the job a few weeks before the season after last year's championship winning side broke up . As the last time they played parkway I believe had bialy playing for them so just wondered if mr hillson would of like to give a few extra minutes that was all fair play to him for being able to keep them all happy. Lance had missed a game or two due to other commitments , so he needed to get 90 minutes under his belt . Luke Rundle also turned out for the seconds when he was working his way back after several weeks out with a broken wrist . That is an essential function of any second team , while you want them to be competitive in their own right , they are predominantly there to support the first team . Ain't that whole idea of a second team!! I wasn't slating it at all I was asking the question I agree with what parkway and Torpoint and a few of the other clubs that have first teams and seconds nothing gets mentioned if said first team need to take 3or4 from the seconds it's a club game after all. Well done to both teams on sounds like a good advertisement for local football
stewart cawte
that's exactly how the teams should work, torpoint done it for years and looks like mooney and wayne are also carrying the trend through parkways set-up...

Well done to both teams on sounds like a good advertisement for local football The whole club set up it's been working well this year. Youngsters Lewis Pacey, James Robertson and Ellis Cowd have all stepped into the first team and are looking like permanent fixtures at the moment. But like you say it works in a multitude of ways with Brad/Dean/Myself helping the each other out. As the 3rd team manager it is always a good feeling to see my lads take the step up. From Wednesday's game Ellis Cowd, Zak Pearce, Sam West and even Dean played for me last season and it's great to see them performing so well at ECPL and SWPL.
